Whispers of Autumn Wind (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 28

Ga Eul regained consciousness with the sensation of her body collapsing abruptly. Yet she kept her eyes closed. Someone was speaking.

“Where are you right now? We’ve already arrived. But Myung Se, should we wait until you get here? I think we could just start without you.”

Instinctively, Ga Eul strained not to reveal she was awake. She forcibly suppressed the groans rising in her throat and remained perfectly still. Her limbs were bound, and she lay sideways on a sofa. Her mouth was sealed shut with tape.

“What about the bodyguard? I’ve stuffed him into the trunk for now, but if we just leave him there, he might die. And if he dies, won’t it be hard for even your grandfather to cover it up?”

One man, apparently on a phone call, continued his monologue before finally hanging up.

As consciousness returned, nausea surged and the urge to vomit overwhelmed her. She must have been roughly handled on the way here. Ga Eul focused her mind, striving to comprehend her current situation.

Besides the man who had been talking on the phone, there appeared to be one more person in the room. The two began conversing.

“Myung Se says he’s almost here and told us to wait until he arrives. He said to move the bodyguard inside the house—if he dies, it’ll become a real headache.”

“That bastard hasn’t lifted a finger himself. Isn’t he just planning to pin everything on us later and slip away alone?”

“That won’t happen. I recorded all my calls with Myung Se, and we each have a copy of the video footage recorded here—if he tries to escape alone, we’ll just hand those over to his parents and grandfather.”

“For now, let’s at least move the bodyguard.”

“But why does Myung Se insist on waiting until he arrives? Is he planning to try her himself first?”

“No way—he said she’s his third-cousin younger sister.”

“That lunatic actually cares about that? If he did, he wouldn’t be doing something like this—filming himself sexually assaulting his own third-cousin sister and using that footage to blackmail both his grandfather and Gi Dae Woong? He’s completely unhinged.”

Their voices faded away. Listening to their conversation, Ga Eul’s blood first surged violently, then turned ice-cold. The thought of what would happen shortly left her vision dark.
