After Jeong Se Hyun’s first visit, the CEO began going out more frequently. In the past, he only went out at night to drink, but recently he mostly went out during the day.

Today, too, the CEO left after taking a call from Jeong Se Hyun. Ga Eul visited convenience stores in the morning and stayed at the office in the afternoon.

She had a feeling that Jeong Mi Oh would show up around today. Jeong Se Hyun had claimed he’d make sure Jeong Mi Oh never again lingered around Dae Woon—but Ga Eul didn’t believe it was possible.

What place could a two-legged creature not reach? Moreover, with a brain to think, she might even evade those watching her. If Jeong Mi Oh learned that Jeong Se Hyun had called the CEO away, today would be the perfect opportunity for her to come see Ga Eul.

Jeong Mi Oh surely still had something to discuss with her. Judging by her attitude that day, she wouldn’t simply accept the fact that Han Ga Eul and Gi Dae Woong were dating and quietly retreat. It was obvious whom Jeong Mi Oh would choose to confront—the intimidating Gi Dae Woong or the seemingly easy target, Han Ga Eul.

As expected, Jeong Mi Oh burst into the office, flinging the door open, and strode in confidently as if entering her own home, crossing one leg over the other as she settled onto the sofa.

“Let’s talk.”

Ga Eul closed the book she’d been reading in preparation for returning to school, slowly rose from her seat, and picked up a book as she stood—ready to block Jeong Mi Oh’s face with it if she lunged forward.

“Oh, before that, make me a cup of coffee. You’re supposed to make sweet coffee well, right?”

Hearing Jeong Mi Oh’s request, Ga Eul nearly laughed. With her chin raised high and lips pouted, Jeong Mi Oh looked just like a petulant child throwing a tantrum.

Was she really asking for coffee because she wanted to drink it? No—she wanted to assert dominance over Ga Eul.

Regardless of her motive, Ga Eul had no intention of preparing coffee for Jeong Mi Oh. She knew full well it wouldn’t end up in Jeong Mi Oh’s mouth—but in her own.

That’s just how things always played out, after all. If Jeong Mi Oh threw the coffee in Ga Eul’s face, it would inevitably trickle into Ga Eul’s mouth. And even knowing this, Ga Eul certainly had no intention of serving her hot coffee—let alone iced coffee. Getting hit in the face with ice cubes would hurt like hell.

Coffee was out of the question; at most, maybe water. Ga Eul wracked her brain to ensure no coffee remained anywhere near Jeong Mi Oh.

“Do you trust me? If not, skip the coffee and have bottled water instead.”
