Eun Chae hurriedly approached him, worried he’d notice the heat rising to the nape of her neck. She leaned her body toward Gi Ju, who was sitting. He let out a slightly long breath, as if satisfied.

Gi Ju pressed his warm lips against her pale, bloodless hands. Thinking about how she must have picked out the gift with those delicate, fern-like hands made his ribs ache.
Eun Chae, shyly tucking in her neck, bit the inside of her cheek and giggled softly.
“It tickles.”
A small scuffle broke out between Eun Chae, who tried to pull her hands away, and Gi Ju, who refused to let go. The difference in strength was like heaven and earth from the start. The fact that it felt somewhat felt even was proof he was going easy on her. Eun Chae didn’t mind that at all.
The scuffle was stopped by a sudden knock. Eun Chae jumped and looked toward the door.
“Miss. You need to come out for a moment.”
It was Ham An Dae. Eun Chae turned her body right away with a visibly relieved expression.
“I’ll be right back.”
She whispered softly before leaving the room. Gi Ju’s pitch-black eyes remained fixed on the door, as if tracing the lingering afterimage.
