When The Silver Bell Of Charlotte's Pharmacy Rings (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 167
Tae Mi felt something damp and long touch his neck and clenched his fists tightly. A chill that felt like it was sucking the life out of his spine surged up, making him grit his teeth, but it didn’t help much. Knowing that it was Colfer’s tongue, the best he could do was hold back the nausea.
“Now, let’s go inside.”
Colfer slightly relaxed the arm that had been holding Tae Mi’s waist. Seizing that moment, Tae Mi spun around and tried to snatch the dagger. However, Colfer slipped away annoyingly fast and was already shaking the dagger up and down just out of Tae Mi’s reach.
“Don’t make me waste my effort, Tae Mi. I want to savor you slowly.”
Grinding his molars, Tae Mi stepped back, and his heel bumped into something heavy. A gloomy grinding sound, like rocks rubbing together, echoed.
“Now put that around your neck.”
Colfer pointed at the chain with the tip of her sword. Tae Mi glanced briefly at Grimel beyond the opposite bars, then lifted the chain, which was rusted in places and covered in moss.
“Won’t it be rather difficult to suck blood if I’m wearing something like this around my neck?”
But Colfer merely gave a low laugh, as if telling him not to try any cheap tricks, and pressed the blade to her lips.
“Don’t worry about that and just put it on.”
Tae Mi glared at her with rage. But he had no choice but to fasten the chain……. He did consider continuing to resist and provoke her until she was furious enough to be lured inside the bars, but Colfer was no easy opponent.
If Charlotte was right, she had been a vampire for quite a long time, meaning her intellect and sense of self were developed enough to easily see through most tricks. If a vampire who could blend naturally among humans faced an ordinary human, well. The human probably couldn’t win.
‘At least not by orthodox methods.’
Tae Mi pulled the heavy chain and fastened it around his own neck. When the clasp clicked shut, he tugged lightly, but contrary to his hopes, the lock was extremely solid. It would never open without the key.
And the problematic golden key was probably inside that woman’s dress or one of her many jewelry boxes. Perhaps she had hidden it under the mattress of her bed or even swallowed it. It wouldn’t be surprising, would it?

Could someone be trying to frame the crown prince?
Yes, kill the vampire before it reveals it’s secrets. This guy is still suspicious. The easiest way to avoid being seen as a suspect is to become a victim.
The guards are to protect the kingdom, it makes no sense to prioritize the guards well being over the kingdoms well being. That is precisely what the 2nd prince has done by letting Maleblanc go and calling a retreat.
