Under the deepening hues of autumn sky, the scent of grilling barbecue filled the garden.

At 180 days old, Seon Jae had recently started on solid food. He would feed himself when handed a bottle and even pull himself upright by grabbing onto objects.

Wearing tiny shoes barely the size of a palm, Seon Jae stood up holding Mi Ran’s hand and grinned brightly.

“Oh dear, he’ll be walking in no time. Our Eun Jae started walking at just nine months.”

“Oh, our Seon Woo also walked at nine months!” Eun Jung chimed in from beside them.

“By the way, what was Eun Jae’s birth dream?”

“I dreamt of a large, shimmering silver carp swimming into my womb—its colors were so exquisite. I still remember it vividly to this day.”

“So that’s why our Eun Jae turned out this lovely.”

“I’m always grateful you see her that way. What about Seon Woo? I’m curious—what kind of dream led you to give birth to such a flawless son?”

“I dreamt an ancestor handed me a peach as big as my face—but truthfully, I assumed it meant I’d have a daughter. When he was born a boy, I thought perhaps he’d be a son with a daughter’s gentleness. As you can see…”

Eun Jung looked at Seon Woo with a deeply wistful expression, prompting Eun Jae, who stood beside him, to suddenly burst into laughter. “Wait, wasn’t the peach dream supposed to mean a daughter?” she whispered teasingly to Seon Woo, who, finding his past self amusing, eventually joined in laughter too.

“Guess it was the dream that promised me a daughter-in-law as lovely as Eun Jae.”

Amidst all the cheerful, laughter-filled guests, only one person seemed unable to enjoy the moment. Eun Jae approached Seon Woo, who was busy grilling meat, and pointed toward the table where Tae Gyu was seated.

“By the way, what’s gotten into Tae Gyu? He’s been like that since earlier.”

Upon hearing Eun Jae’s words, Seon Woo glanced subtly toward Tae Gyu—then flipped the meat on the grill.
