Only the faint sound of paper turning broke the silence in Seon Woo’s quiet office.

He sat on the sofa flipping through academic papers, repeatedly running his hand over his throat, which occasionally felt rough and itchy.

Seon Woo had a peach allergy.

Not severe—just some lip swelling or skin rashes.

Even that mild discomfort had kept him avoiding peaches for decades, so seeing one on the dining table again genuinely surprised him.

That was also why he hesitated when bringing his fork to the salad.

Not only did he eat one bite, he finished the entire salad plate. On top of that, despite not tolerating spicy food well, he had insisted on adding all the seasoning—acting recklessly—until his stomach ached.

Thankfully, using the phone call as an excuse to head up to the third floor, he’d preemptively taken his allergy medicine he kept stocked there.

Still, compared to the past, he’d improved quite a bit—though even amid all this, he caught himself thinking such a foolish thought.

Looking back, he couldn’t even understand his own behavior.

Had he heard someone else did something like this, he’d have clicked his tongue and stared at them pityingly, scolding, “Do you even realize how dangerous that is?”

Yet, just in case, he’d brought along a Jext auto-injector pen (single-use epinephrine pen for anaphylaxis emergency treatment)—and found himself absurdly ridiculous for it.

His first day off. His first home-cooked meal.

Though he’d clearly put thought and effort into it, he hoped Eun Jae wouldn’t feel any regret.
