The dim living room still held the lingering chill of dawn. Relying on the small crimson light illuminating the dining table, Madam Seongsan was cleaning sea urchins.

She was alone in the silent, spacious room. At the steadily approaching footsteps cutting through the darkness, Madam Seongsan’s hands, busy with the sea urchins, halted abruptly.

Bowing her frightened face deeply and trying hard to shake off her distressing thoughts, she instead grew paler as the white figure steadily drew nearer.

Startled by the sudden presence, Madam Seongsan shrieked and flung the object she’d been holding onto the table.
