A warm, sunlit morning.

Seon Woo stepped into the living room, adjusting his shirt collar, and headed straight to the kitchen. He placed a mug under the built-in coffee machine and pressed the button.

Whiiirrr— The sound of grinding beans filled the air, and soon the mug was filled with coffee crowned by a shimmering golden crema.

The rich aroma of coffee spread throughout the living room, each breath carrying the deep, nutty scent of freshly ground beans.

Holding the freshly brewed cup, Seon Woo sat on the sofa, crossed his legs lightly, and tilted the cup toward his lips as he waited leisurely for Eun Jae.

Today was finally the day they would visit his family home to pay their respects.

It was the first step toward receiving the hospital as a gift—and the most difficult, crucial task entrusted to a woman.

For several days, Seon Woo had compiled a list of important points and explained them thoroughly to her. As always, she absorbed them rapidly, like a sponge.

Among them, the point requiring the most careful practice—and still not fully corrected—was how to address people.

“Uncle! Ah—I mean, Seon Woo… What should I do? I keep slipping and saying ‘Uncle’!”

Ugh, I’m going crazy. Recalling Eun Jae muttering in frustration and slapping her own mouth in self-punishment, he let out an involuntary chuckle.

Smiling at a time like this meant he wasn’t quite himself.
