After finishing his call with Soon Seok, Kwon Seung Cheol sank into deep contemplation.

Though the plan had been significantly disrupted, he kept thinking throughout the call that it might still be too early to give up.

Upon reflection, he realized he still had one more card left to play.

“They say there’s no law forcing you to die.”

As morning broke, he arrived at the hospital entrance with a comparatively tidy appearance, and gazed upward at Yeon Rim’s imposing silhouette before gulping nervously.

“The day you go searching for Eun Jae—be it you or me—we’ll both end up in hell.”

Yoon Seon Woo’s voice from that day, which he had subconsciously remembered, seemed to stand vividly before him now.

It had been a gaze filled with murderous intent.

He already knew it wasn’t just an idle threat meant to scare him. He also knew Yoon Seon Woo was the sort of man who followed through on his words—after all, hadn’t he already experienced it once before?

“Well, so what? I’m leaving Korea anyway.”
