My stomach ached all day, and my body felt as heavy as if it had been beaten by something.

There hadn’t even been direct intercourse—so why was this happening? Could my body really be this drained just from a few fluctuations in sensation?

Hoping a nap might help, Liz took a two-hour afternoon sleep.

But when she woke up, her condition was unchanged. If anything, her head felt even hazier, and now her stomach churned unpleasantly.

‘Could I have indigestion?’

About an hour later, the physician arrived.

“My apologies, Your Majesty. May I perform a brief examination?”

The elderly physician apologized in advance, then gently pried open Liz’s eyelids with his thumb and index finger. He examined her pupils while she studied his face—a kindly visage etched with gentle wrinkles and bright, intelligent eyes, clearly belonging to someone of great experience and learning.

After listening to her heart, lungs, and airways, and taking her temperature, the physician spoke.

“There’s nothing abnormal, Your Majesty. Only a slight fever.”

“I see.”

It seemed the mild fever that had started yesterday still hadn’t subsided.

“Have you overexerted yourself recently?”

‘Yes. Last night. Right here.’

But her body had already felt unwell even before their intimacy.
