Ji Hyun’s fingers urgently pressed Woo Jin’s door lock code early in the morning. Last night, she’d spoken with Na Eun while receiving her wife’s suspicious glares. Just as she’d feared, Na Eun confirmed she’d argued with Woo Jin.

The atmosphere had been pleasant when Ji Hyun met Na Eun and talked about Woo Jin, and likewise when she met Woo Jin and spoke about Na Eun—so why had the two of them ended up fighting when they actually met?

Had eight long years passed, yet their old resentment still not faded? Na Eun still seemed clearly interested in Woo Jin.

Na Eun had been close to Woo Jin since high school. Even if Woo Jin wasn’t particularly gentle, he’d never disliked her.

Na Eun believed that was how she could help him, but back then, Woo Jin himself struggled to accept the very fact that he’d gone blind.

Perhaps being pushed so hard to undergo rehab had simply been too much for him to bear.

Back then, Woo Jin, Na Eun, and Ji Hyun had all been in hell.

Passing through the eerily silent living room, Ji Hyun quietly cracked open Woo Jin’s bedroom door. Stepping into the spacious room, she saw her younger brother lying on the bed.

The moment she saw his sharply handsome, serene face, Ji Hyun froze in surprise beside the bed. Had she ever seen this boy sleep so peacefully before?

She picked up his phone resting beside the pillow—earphones still plugged in—and sneaked a peek at his call history. The most recent call was labeled “Su Young,” and the duration had been quite long.

It was already astonishing that Woo Jin had initiated the call himself, let alone that they’d talked for so long. What on earth had they discussed?

Yeon Seo had been terribly worried that her presence might ruin the relationship between Woo Jin and Su Young, but that worry now seemed unnecessary.

Even without their employer-housekeeper dynamic, it felt as though their connection would naturally persist.
