In front of a white midsize car parked in the library lot, Su Young couldn’t keep her mouth shut. Yet she still didn’t miss the chance to make a snide remark.

“What’s a NEET doing with a car? Got too full of yourself?”

But Yeon Ho just shrugged his shoulders and calmly replied,

“My father decided to get a new car and wanted to sell this one—for just three million won. He told me to take it off his hands.”

“Senior So, you had three million won? You’re rich!”

Yeon Ho was startled by her words. Wait, so this girl didn’t even have three million won in her bank account? Where had all her earnings from the past two years gone?

“Kim Su Young, if you’ve been a cram school instructor for two whole years and still don’t have three million won in your account, that’s seriously concerning. Huh?”

“Well, I have it. But Senior So, you never even did part-time work.”

“I’ve been working part-time the whole time while attending school. Didn’t you know? This Senior So is a capable man.”

It was ridiculous that he, a jobless exam-taker, dared call himself “capable” just for buying a used car—but Su Young nodded anyway, as if agreeing with him.

“But doesn’t owning a car come with pretty high upkeep costs? Gas, repairs…”

Yeon Ho cleared his throat awkwardly and then said, a little bashfully,

“I got a job.”

“Huh?”

This news surprised Su Young even more than the car itself. So maybe he wasn’t just bragging about being “capable” because of the car after all.
