Visible Love (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 16
While she was still deep in her prayer of thanks, a loud crashing noise came from Woo Jin’s room.
She wondered what was going on, but fear kept her from gathering the courage to go back in.
He seemed angrier than she’d ever seen him before—so furious, in fact, that the sound he made didn’t even seem human.
Su Young wanted to flee the house entirely for safety, but her clothes were completely soaked, making that impossible.
Last time she’d spilled ramen broth on herself, and now this—maybe she really should leave some spare clothes at this house.
She finally remembered she needed to report to Seol Ji Hyun, so she looked for her phone—but it had vanished without a trace.
Could she have dropped it in the toilet? Ugh, damn it…!
Cautiously turning her body and craning her neck to peek into the room, Su Young swallowed hard and crept toward Woo Jin’s door, carefully muffling her footsteps.
She gently pushed the door open with her finger, but saw no one inside—only the bathroom remained unconfirmed. She suspected her phone had fallen in there, but she lacked the courage to go retrieve it.
Suddenly, a thought struck her: what if Woo Jin stepped on her phone and tripped over it?
Just imagining it made her heart start pounding. Could that earlier crash have been him stepping on her phone and falling? What if he’d hit his head on the floor while falling!
Out of nowhere, a mental news bulletin flashed through her head:
“—Mr. Kim secretly entered the restroom and spied on Ms. Seol while she was undressing, then fled the scene. Ms. Seol, who is visually impaired, stepped on Mr. Kim’s dropped phone, slipped, and died… or perhaps became fully… paralyzed… Mr. Kim has been sentenced to life imprisonment on murder charges…”
“No way!”
Su Young scrambled across the room on all fours and stopped right in front of the bathroom door. After fidgeting anxiously for a while, she carefully opened the door—but, unexpectedly, it was completely empty inside.
“Huh? Where’d you go…? Where’s the body…?”
“What’s gone where? Whose body?”
A chilling voice came from behind her, catching her off guard.
Su Young let out a shriek and stumbled backward, landing flat on her butt on the bathroom’s tiled floor.
The impact with the hard tiles felt like her tailbone was splitting apart, yet—just like earlier in the living room—no scream escaped her lips.
He stood there, now fully dressed in a V-neck T-shirt and sweatpants, glaring down at her with intimidating eyes.
For some reason, his amber irises seemed to glint brightly. And in his right hand—he held Su Young’s phone.
“You… you just barge into this room now?”
“A—no! I didn’t mean to come in! It’s just that… that representative guy—”
“Seol Ji Hyun?”
“Yes. He said he couldn’t reach you and told me he’d take full responsibility if I just went in… I really didn’t want to, but he kept insisting… I only came in because there was no one here, and then he told me to check the bathroom too and said he’d take responsibility…”
She kept repeating that she hadn’t wanted to do it—that it was all his idea—while just sitting there on the wet floor.
But Woo Jin remained silent, his gaze fixed on her body—or so it seemed.
Under his intense stare, Su Young slowly looked down at herself. Her white T-shirt was thoroughly soaked, revealing her pink bra beneath with startling clarity.
“Hweeeek! W-why are you staring?! Pervert!”
She quickly crossed her arms over her chest and shouted.
An exasperated look crossed Woo Jin’s face. At the same time, a sudden curiosity arose—was this woman currently in the same state he’d been in earlier, half-naked?
Woo Jin slowly knelt down on one knee before her. As his amber eyes drew closer, Su Young instinctively scooted backward and muttered,
“W-what is it? What do you want? Are you seriously going to stare properly now?”
Her arms tightened protectively over herself. If only she’d known, she’d have worn prettier underwear! Wait—what am I even thinking? Do I actually want to show him?
Just as she spiraled into internal chaos, Woo Jin slowly reached his long arm toward her.
“W-why? Why?! Where are you touching?!”
His fingertips lightly brushed her shoulder before pulling away. Then, looking disappointed, he gave a short, scoffing laugh.
“What the hell. You’re fully dressed.”
Seriously? He just checked to see if she was naked?
“Can’t you tell just by looking? Do you really have to touch to confirm? You’re such a pervert!”
“Lee Su Young. You’ve probably said that about ten times already—but I can’t see, remember? So I have no choice but to use my hands to check.”
Who’s Lee Su Young? Why do these brothers keep changing my name all the time? And why does he even need to check if I’m dressed or not?
“It’s Kim Su Young!”
“…Anyway. If you’re fully dressed, why are you acting like you’re naked?”
“You threw water on me! That’s why I’m all soaked!”
“But you’re still clothed, right? Earlier, I was completely naked.”
At his words, the image of David’s statue from earlier flashed in her mind, and Su Young quickly shut her mouth.
“If you were a woman with basic manners…”
Woo Jin spoke again, still kneeling before her. His voice sounded oddly cold, and Su Young found herself swallowing nervously.
Trending
“You’d have closed your eyes or turned your head out of politeness. Right?”
Was he implying she lacked even basic manners? Su Young’s expression soured.
“But earlier, judging from your voice—you were definitely facing me and didn’t even close your eyes. Isn’t that right?”
Su Young couldn’t utter a word. She knew she truly lacked basic manners—but admitting it was another matter entirely.
Woo Jin stood up. As his tall frame rose, Su Young’s head instinctively followed his movement.
“How was the view?”
“…Huh?”
“Did your breath catch again?”
“Heh… heh… heh…”
“So it did stop, huh?”
His voice, once a monstrous roar, had now returned to its melodious tone.
“Must’ve been impressive, then.”
“N-no, it wasn’t!”
Honestly, it had been. She now completely understood why her relatives kept repeating, “If only his eyes weren’t so perfect…”
Suddenly, he held out his hand toward her.
“Since I can’t see, stop covering yourself and get up. Open that sliding door over there and go inside—there’s clothing. Just take something that looks like it’ll fit from the drawer and put it on. Don’t touch anything else. If things get moved around, it’ll be harder for me to pick out clothes later.”
After a brief hesitation, Su Young took his hand and stood up. Their clasped hands were so warm she couldn’t tell whose body heat it was.
[This is the timeline separator]He was furious—furious that she’d invaded even his most private space. Yet when he heard her crash loudly and her scent suddenly vanished, his anger instantly turned to worry.
Did she slip on the tiles? Did she fall? Was she hurt?
This bathroom had been specially remodeled with non-slip tiles just for Woo Jin—but if she’d lost her footing, she could still have gotten seriously injured, just like on any ordinary tile floor.
She’d seemed to run out, yet another crash echoed from the living room. He’d been startled himself—but she must have been even more panicked.
As he stepped out of the tub and hurriedly dried himself with a towel placed nearby, he heard a faint voice from somewhere.
—“Ms. Su Young? Ms. Su Young, are you okay? Ms. Su Young!”
He dropped to his knees on the cold tile and reached toward where the sound came from, feeling along the floor until his hand touched a small phone.
So she’d dropped it and run off? When he picked it up, he heard Seol Ji Hyun’s voice leaking out.
—“Did you see Woo Jin? Is Woo Jin alright? Ms. Su Young!”
She must have pressed something accidentally, because the call abruptly cut off. It rang again a moment later, but since voice commands weren’t set up, he had no idea how to answer it.
He tried tapping the screen based on guesswork—but, predictably, the call ended again. He decided he’d have to ask her to call back herself, and headed toward the dressing room with the towel wrapped around his waist.
He briefly wondered if she might come back in—but anyone in their right mind wouldn’t re-enter after causing such a scene.
And yet—as expected—she wasn’t in her right mind. While he was getting dressed in the dressing room, he heard her muttering nearby.
Actually, it wasn’t so much muttering as an extremely agitated voice echoing through the bathroom.
“…Where’d you go? …Where’s the body?”
Had she finally gone insane? Why was she searching for corpses in someone else’s bathroom?
At least she didn’t seem physically hurt—unless she’d hit her head? Could she possibly think he was dead? He *had* shouted, after all—and before that, he’d splashed water on her too.
He double-checked with his hands that his clothes were properly on, then slowly made his way back to the bathroom.
Something similar had happened before. Back then, he’d truly wanted to die—lying in the tub, fading under the influence of pills—until Seol Ji Hyun burst in and shook him awake just in time.
He’d gone to the hospital for stomach pumping and spent a full week locked in a hospital room. The entire time, people kept dropping by to touch him, driving him to the brink of stress-induced death.
Somehow, Seol Ji Hyun had convinced their grandfather to let him move into this house instead of returning to the main residence. In exchange, a housekeeper came during the day, and Seol Ji Hyun visited every evening.
Though he disliked strangers coming into his space, knowing someone was watching stopped him from ever attempting anything reckless again—plus, he’d gotten busy with publishing work.
Now he understood why Seol Ji Hyun had asked her to check on him. That memory must have resurfaced for him too—perhaps making him feel guilty again, blaming himself yet once more.
And today was also their father’s death anniversary… By evening, those chatty relatives would gather again, disguising their gossip as sympathy.
It was fine if they talked about him—but the moment they brought up his father, murderous rage welled up inside him. What did they know? What did they possibly understand!
He approached Su Young from behind as she searched for his “body,” pretending he knew what she was doing—and she immediately screamed “Pervert!” as if he’d seen her naked.
What was there even to see? He saw nothing at all! How many times did he have to say he couldn’t see before she got it through her head?
But strangely, it didn’t bother him much that she treated him like an ordinary guy—calling him a pervert and all.
Perhaps because he wasn’t annoyed enough, he even lent her clothes from his wardrobe so she could change out of her wet ones—despite normally hating the idea of someone wearing his clothes or him wearing someone else’s.
Maybe it wasn’t just her head that got hurt—maybe his own mind was acting up too. Ever since she started coming in and out of this house, he hadn’t felt like himself. As the old saying goes, “When a person changes, they die…”
Sitting in the living room, waiting for her to finish changing, he suddenly sensed someone nearby—and smelled that familiar scent. Woo Jin reached out and offered her the phone.
“Call Seol Ji Hyun. Tell him I’m alive.”

“Huh? Oh—okay.”
Su Young took the phone and pressed one of the many missed calls showing the same number.
—“Ms. Su Young! Are you okay?”
As soon as Seol Ji Hyun answered, he immediately asked after her well-being.
“Yes. Mr. Woo Jin is fine too. He was in the bath, so I guess he didn’t hear the phone ringing.”
For some reason, her face flushed and she nearly choked as she said the word “bath.”
—“Ah, I see! So Woo Jin’s perfectly fine? He was just bathing, then?”
Hearing “bath” repeated so many times, Su Young couldn’t even respond—she just nodded quickly as if Ji Hyun were standing right in front of her. Yet somehow, Ji Hyun sensed it and chuckled.
—“That’s a relief. Did Woo Jin get really angry?”
“Huh? Well… I guess…”
He’d shouted, yes—but he didn’t seem nearly as furious as she’d expected.
—“Can I talk to him for a bit?”
“Oh—sure. Wait a moment. Mr. Seol Woo Jin, he wants to talk to you.”
She placed the phone on his outstretched hand. Woo Jin took it and answered in a quiet voice.
“I’m not going.”
Taken aback by his abrupt reply, Ji Hyun quickly responded.
—“Okay, okay. I already told Grandfather. I’ll come after the ancestral rites are done.”
“You don’t have to come.”
—“I just miss you.”
“Miss my ass. You’re just coming to spy on me. It’s fine—I’m with Su Young.”
Hearing him say “Su Young” so gently made her eyes widen even further—normally, he just called her “you.”
But if he usually needed supervision like this, it probably meant such incidents happened often. Su Young looked down quietly at the statue-like man, her eyes filled with unease.
Suddenly, she wondered—maybe Auntie and Ji Hyun had sent her here precisely so she could keep an eye on Woo Jin and stop him from doing anything reckless.
But this man mostly stayed locked in his room, and even the housekeeper couldn’t freely enter—so how effective could that “supervision” really be?
Unless… had they installed hidden cameras somewhere? The absurd thought crossed her mind, but she stayed silent, waiting for Woo Jin to finish his call.
After exchanging a few more curt words, Woo Jin handed the phone back to her.
“I’m hungry. Feed me.”
“Huh? Oh—right. I just need to check what side dishes we—”
“I want tteokbokki.”
“What?”
“I said I want tteokbokki. Being stressed out because of you makes me crave something spicy.”
“Oh… um… sure. I’ll treat you.”
If anyone was stressed, it was definitely her—not him—but she figured staying quiet was the safest option, so she silently opened the food delivery app.
As she searched through the snack section for tteokbokki restaurants, Woo Jin slowly leaned back against the sofa, resting his long arm along the top of the backrest.
Though his hand didn’t actually touch her, from the front it looked exactly as if he were draping his arm around her.
Unaware that Woo Jin had tilted his head toward her with his eyes closed, Su Young focused intently on adding items to her cart.
[This is the timeline separator]After the ancestral rites ended, Ji Hyun arrived at Woo Jin’s house past 11 p.m. The moment he stepped through the front door, a familiar pair of shoes caught his eye.
Surely… she was still here?
He walked into the kitchen and saw the dining table chaotic—ingredients for kimbap, half-eaten rolls, and even the wine bottle and glasses Woo Jin had bought long ago, all strewn about haphazardly.
Ji Hyun, who was usually just as neat as Woo Jin, automatically frowned. Woo Jin wasn’t the type to leave things like this lying around.
If he couldn’t see something, he’d sooner throw all the food into trash bags than leave it out so messily.
But what he saw in the living room shocked him even more. Slippers were scattered everywhere, and on the sofa…
On the not-particularly-narrow sofa, Woo Jin lay sleeping sideways, pressed tightly against the backrest.
And nestled securely in his large embrace, Su Young slept soundly as well—wearing only one of Woo Jin’s shirts.

The woman snatched his phone and hung up. Looking at his phone wallpaper, she awkwardly changed the subject: “An ancient painting, eh? It looks pretty good, it’s just that the person in the painting looks a bit like me.”
When he heard this, he sarcastically mocked her for being so delusional, completely unaware that, the person in front of him was the reincarnation of Wen Ru, the famous prime minister of Yuan Shun whom he most admired…
