Visible Love (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 15
Even as she picked up a grain of rice with her chopsticks and put it into her mouth, Su Young’s gaze remained fixed on Woo Jin.
The man, whose dedication to maintaining his physique despite never leaving the house baffled her, had taken a shower and now emitted a different, pleasant scent—distinct from his earlier sweat—as he munched contentedly on his rice and side dishes.
“What are you doing that you’re not eating?”
He lifted his head and asked, startling Su Young so much that she blurted out,
“I am eating!”
“I don’t hear your chopsticks clinking. Or you chewing.”
“Do you seriously have some superpower? How can you hear sounds that clearly?”
“If you knew just how loudly you eat, you wouldn’t be asking if I have superpowers.”
At his words, Su Young shot him a sharp glare, her eyes narrowed.
“…You’re lying, right?”
“What part?”
“That you can’t see.”
“Didn’t you see my eyes earlier when we bumped into each other? Or were you too busy having dirty thoughts to notice again?”
“I wasn’t having dirty thoughts!”
Su Young retorted, slamming her chopsticks down. Yet she’d denied it so forcefully that he clearly didn’t believe her.
“But why do you keep saying weird things like that?”
“Because you talk as if you can see perfectly fine. Otherwise, how would you know whether I’ve gained or lost weight?”
“Slender people move nimbly. They speak nimbly too. You’re slow and sluggish all over.”
He didn’t add that her slowness was precisely what he liked about her.
Generally, people tended to fumble nervously around Woo Jin—rushing to offer help they couldn’t actually provide or anxiously watching his every reaction. To someone already uneasy due to limited vision, their frantic behavior only amplified his anxiety rather than eased it.
But Su Young was completely different. She never fussed over Woo Jin’s reactions, always carried herself with ease, and never stayed on standby just for him. That calmness of hers made Woo Jin feel at ease.
Still, he’d rather die than admit such feelings aloud, so he blurted out something deliberately off-base instead.
“Your movements are slow, yet you eat so much. Isn’t that just a recipe for gaining weight?”
From across the table came a deeply exasperated sigh, as if it had welled up from his very soul.
“Seriously! Look at this—look at this! Saying you can’t see is a total lie. If you really couldn’t see, how would you know whether I eat a lot or a little?”
“I saw Seol Ji Hyun happily remarking how much the side dishes keep disappearing because someone’s eating so well.”
Gasp! That was undeniable—she really couldn’t argue with that. Honestly, aside from meals, she often snuck in meat pancakes like snacks. Now she felt embarrassed, as if she were some poor girl working in a rich household.
“Well… I’m still slim for how much I eat, right?”
“I’ve touched your face. Stop lying.”
At that, Su Young remembered his fingers brushing against her cheek, and her face flushed slightly.
“What… what did it feel like when you touched it?”
“Your cheeks were plump. You’re not exactly at the age where baby fat should still stick around, you know?”
Truthfully, he couldn’t tell whether her cheeks were truly plump or not. All he recalled was the soft, warm sensation lingering on his fingertips.
Even afterward, he’d repeatedly rubbed his thumb against his other fingers, trying to hold onto that feeling.
Unaware of Woo Jin’s inner thoughts, Su Young glared at him fiercely at the mention of her “plump cheeks.”
At the same time, she seriously considered starting to exercise. Maybe age-related weight gain had already begun.
She’d been thrilled that her employer was so handsome, but now she realized it wasn’t all good—apparently, a good-looking employer expected his employee to look good too.
For a fleeting moment, she even thought it was fortunate he couldn’t see her clearly. If he could see everything, just imagining how smugly he’d compare and boast made her stomach churn.
“So that’s why you’re working out like your life depends on it?”
Su Young grumbled, and Woo Jin turned his amber eyes toward her, looking puzzled.
“No, it’s just—you run like you’re about to drop dead. What kind of exercise is that?”
“I want to die.”
“What?”
“If I die while exercising, at least it won’t count as suicide, right?”
It was a terrifying and heartbreaking thing to say—yet the casual way he said it made him seem even more frightening and sorrowful to Su Young. She spoke in a quiet, somber voice.
“Don’t throw around words like ‘suicide’ so carelessly. Do you have any idea how irresponsible that sounds?”
The sound of her spoon stirring soup followed, but Woo Jin abruptly stopped eating and quietly turned to look at her.
He’d never really paid attention to his own words before, but now he wondered if what he’d said might have hurt her.
Woo Jin remained silent, mechanically shoveling rice into his mouth, while all his focus sharpened onto the sounds of Su Young’s spoon and chewing drifting through the heavy silence.

“You know what Friday is, right? Your sister-in-law will come pick you up.”
Technically, Driver Kim would be coming—but since Woo Jin clearly wouldn’t open the door for him, Yeon Seo had agreed to accompany him.
Woo Jin’s brow furrowed, and he set his spoon down with an audible clink.
“I’m not going.”
“Why not? Come, pour your grandfather a drink or something.”
“When did Father ever drink alcohol? Why force him to drink something he never touched in life, just because he’s dead now?”
“Woo Jin…”
“I’m not going. Tell Grandfather I said so.”
“Woo Jin. Grandfather really misses you. He’s getting older, and his strength isn’t what it used to be…”
“Do you think I don’t notice how he glares at me every time we meet, calling me the guy who swallowed his son whole? Even his breathing changes!”
“Woo Jin, oh please. Grandfather doesn’t think that way.”
Ji Hyun spoke with a pained expression, but Woo Jin abruptly stood up and left the kitchen.
Sighing, Ji Hyun regretted not waiting until he’d finished his meal before bringing it up, noticing Woo Jin’s untouched rice.
Friday was the anniversary of his uncle’s death.
They held a memorial service every year, so a simple observance at the columbarium should have sufficed—but Chairman Seol, knowing it hurt his grandson, insisted on having his eldest daughter-in-law prepare a full ancestral memorial table for his younger son.
Chairman Seol argued that however guilty Woo Jin might feel, it couldn’t possibly compare to a father’s pain at seeing his own son’s memorial table.
Even before moving out, Woo Jin rarely left his room. After moving out, he flat-out refused to attend.
Chairman Seol had initially tolerated this, but over time, he grew increasingly angry with his grandson.
That was why he’d instructed his eldest grandson and granddaughter-in-law to bring Woo Jin by any means necessary.
Ji Hyun felt torn—understanding both Grandfather’s and Woo Jin’s perspectives—and his heart grew heavy.
Above all, he felt crushed by the thought that this entire situation was his own fault.
[This is the timeline separator]Normally, before her part-time shift, Su Young followed a fairly regular routine—studying or reading at the library. But the previous night, she’d stayed up binge-watching a drama, so she overslept that morning.
The new drama, adapted from a web novel, hit her right in the sweet spot. She’d even impulsively ordered the novel online mid-episode.
The only thing she disliked was the male lead’s face. Though portrayed as extremely handsome in the drama, to Su Young, the actor looked utterly ordinary.
She rationalized it by thinking she’d been exposed to too many inhumanly good-looking faces lately—and finished all eight episodes in one night.
Still enjoying her unemployed morning as the sun climbed high, Su Young jolted awake at the buzz of her phone.
“Ugh… what is it… huh?”
Groggy, she reached out and held the phone to her ear—then instantly snapped wide awake at the cheerful voice on the other end.
“This is Kim Su Young’s phone, right? Hello, this is Seol Ji Hyun.”
“Oh… um… yes, hello?”
Her voice was hoarse, and she spent a long moment clearing her throat.
“Um… are you busy right now?”
“Huh? Oh—no, not at all…”
She tried her best to sound normal, hiding the fact she’d just woken up, but Ji Hyun spoke in an even brighter—yet still apologetic—tone.
“I know it’s quite early, but could you possibly come see Woo Jin a bit earlier today?”
“What? Why?”
Glancing at the clock, she realized it was already 11:30 a.m. When did I even go to sleep? She thought she’d fallen asleep right after sunrise.
“He’s not answering his phone, and my wife and I are currently out of town, so we can’t check on him ourselves… I’m really sorry, but would you mind going over a little early? Of course, we’ll pay you extra for the additional time.”
“Yes, I understand. I’ll get ready and head over right away.”
“Oh, thank you so much! And when you see Woo Jin, could you please send me a quick text? Just to let me know he’s okay…”
“Sure. But… is something wrong with Seol Woo Jin?”
Su Young asked as she got out of bed and stepped into the empty hallway—her mother had already left for work.
“Ah, since it might catch you off guard, I should probably tell you…”
Huh? Caught off guard? Am I walking into something dangerous?
“It’s the anniversary of Woo Jin’s father’s death today. He’s always skipped the memorial, but I pushed him a bit this time—and now he’s gone radio silent. As you know, he’s extremely sensitive, so I’m worried about what he might be doing alone at home.”
“Oh… I see… okay…”
Su Young, who also lacked a father, faintly understood Woo Jin’s feelings. How did he pass away? Please don’t let it have been suicide like my father. After hanging up, Su Young’s mood turned gloomy.
[This is the timeline separator]As expected, there was no sign of anyone in the living room. Su Young cautiously approached Woo Jin’s room and knocked softly—but heard nothing from inside.

She knocked again, still no response. Unsure if she should just walk in, she called the number Ji Hyun had given her that morning.
After a moment, Ji Hyun’s voice came through.
“Yes? Um… I’m here, but it seems like no one’s home?”
Ji Hyun exclaimed in alarm at Su Young’s words.
“No one’s there? Are you sure?”
“Yes. I knocked, but I didn’t hear anything.”
“Su Young…”
“Yes?”
“I’ll take full responsibility—could you please check inside Woo Jin’s room once?”
“Is that really okay?”
“Yes. Please go ahead. And don’t hang up the phone.”
Swallowing hard, Su Young carefully opened the door. It was her first time entering this space, and knowing the homeowner’s personality made her nervous—she took a deep breath.
She knew the house was big, but this room was enormous—about the size of the entire living room. And it had everything.
A large, pitch-black bookshelf lined the left wall, packed tightly with spring files.
Opposite it stood an equally large black desk and chair. On the desk sat a laptop, an unidentifiable typewriter, and equipment like a printer.
Further inside were a refrigerator, an enormous air purifier, a humidifier—and strangely, even something resembling an oxygen respirator.
Seeing how fully equipped the room was, Su Young nodded to herself—no wonder he never left.
Deeper in the room, directly ahead, stood a massive black bed.
It was odd that, despite his blindness, he’d furnished everything in such deep black—but like the living room furniture, it all looked extremely high-end.
Beyond the bed were two more doors—one a sliding door, the other a slightly smaller regular door.
“Is Woo Jin not there?”
Lost in examining the room, Su Young hadn’t spoken, prompting Ji Hyun’s anxious voice through the phone.
“Yes. I’ve come in, but there’s nobody here.”
“What about the bathroom?”
“The bathroom? I’m not sure which door that is…”
“The door beside the bed leads to the bathroom. Could you please check it quickly?”
“Yes, just a moment.”
Su Young tapped lightly on the smaller door.
“Seol Woo Jin, are you in there?”
“Do you hear anything at all?”
“No. Not a sound.”
“Please go in once.”
“Ah—okay…”
Hesitantly, Su Young opened the small door and stepped inside. The bathroom was even larger than her own room, and a long bathtub stood at the far end.
As she approached, she saw a cartoonish figure stretched out inside—completely, utterly naked.
She involuntarily gasped—and Ji Hyun’s urgent voice rang in her ears.
“Is Woo Jin there?”
“…Y-yes… but over there…”
Suddenly, those amber eyes blinked open—and a surge of hot water splashed straight onto her.
“Kyaaah!”
“Su Young?!”
At her scream, Ji Hyun called out her name in panic.
Those amber eyes glared at her as if ready to devour her whole, and a guttural roar—nothing like his usual voice—exploded from Woo Jin’s mouth.
“What do you think this place is, that you just barge in?!”
Drenched, Su Young scrambled out of the bathroom in a daze. Racing through the room and into the living room, she slipped on the wet floor and landed hard on her bottom.
But there was no time to feel the pain—consumed by a terror as if chased by a monster, she frantically crawled across to the other side of the sofa.
“Huh! Huh!”
Her breath caught in her throat, but she cautiously peeked over the sofa to check if he was coming after her.
Thankfully, he didn’t seem to be following. Well, he couldn’t see—there was no way he could keep up with her speed.
Sitting on the floor, back against the sofa, gasping for breath, she worried less about the scolding she’d surely get from Woo Jin later—and more about the vivid image that kept flashing in her mind, making her cheeks burn.

He wasn’t just handsome in the face. He wasn’t just lean. He was absolutely worth running on the treadmill until you dropped dead.
Su Young buried her face in the sofa and pounded the poor, innocent cushion in frustration.
Thank you, God!
Male lead is a Divorced Husband
She said to him: “Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change it!”

Liu Changning transmigrated into a female cannon fodder character in a female-dominant novel.
After reading the first half of the novel’s plot, the first thing she did upon transmigration was to divorce the Pan Jinlian-style male protagonist she had just married.
She indulged herself, pretending to be ugly and poor.
But as time passed, the way that man looked at her became more and more unusual…
Liu Changning was dumbfounded: Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change!
――
This lifetime, Pei Yuanshao was rejected by the same woman twice!
The first time, she drove him away. Forced by the situation, he endured the waves of anger in his heart, yielding and humbling himself.
That person lay slanted on a rocking chair, her sallow face emotionless: “If you don’t want a divorce, go cook!”
Pei Yuanshao’s face was dark and gloomy: “You!”
The second time, after the crisis in Jinling City was resolved, the new emperor sent someone to pick him up. He turned around, stammering: “I… I have to go. If you keep me…”
That person lay on the kang bed, her back to him, as if she had long anticipated this day, crisp and clear: “Goodbye!”
Pei Yuanshao was so angry his fingers trembled: “You… you!”
The mission of family and country made him restrain himself, averting his eyes and turning to leave this broken household.
Two years later, they met again. Seeing her ethereal face, his body shook like a sieve.
“She was originally a ‘she’!”
At the Qionglin Banquet, the top scholar of the imperial examination, a talented person with exceptional speech and conduct, all the unmarried young gentlemen from aristocratic families looked at her with shy and timid eyes.
The peerless imperial official Pei Yuanshao felt the anger in his heart erupt. He pointed at the woman surrounded by the crowd at the Qionglin Banquet, his thin lips slightly curled: “Little sister, I wants that person to be the wife-master of my Mingde Prince Manor.”
