Trapped in the Mad Duke's Snare (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 71
“What do you think?”
“I, too, cannot determine why His Grace has yet to regain consciousness.”
The duke’s tent was somber.
Sent to save Quellen, the duke had lain bedridden for several days after contracting the plague.
Even the most renowned physicians had come and gone, yet none could cure him—
despite Adeline’s known treatment.
“Aren’t all the others recovering?”
It was baffling that the duke, the healthiest and strongest in the entire village, was the slowest to recover.
Frustrated, Adeline pressed the physician.
“But His Grace only exhibits high fever and vomiting—there’s no diarrhea or dehydration. Perhaps he’s simply showing signs of improvement a bit later than others.”
‘…No diarrhea or dehydration.’
“Hold on.”
Adeline’s face clouded with confusion at the physician’s words.
‘This is strange. Is it truly cholera?’
As far as Adeline knew, cholera was a deadly disease characterized by severe dehydration and diarrhea.

Cheng Songer transmigrated into the body of a vicious cannon fodder female supporting character with the same name as her in a female-dominant novel.
In the original story, the cannon fodder female supporting character was inhumane, committing domestic violence, gambling excessively, being lustful, and even wanting to sell her stepbrother to a brothel for money.
As luck would have it, she just happened to transmigrate at this time.
Seeing Cheng Qingzhi biting his lip, enduring the tears in his eyes, looking pitiful, her heart softened.
She stuffed the money back into the Madam’s hand and reached out to him.
“Brother, come home with me.”

It wouldn’t surprise me if the crown prince stabs the empress some day.
Wow, I thought these two had made progress. I’m a bit surprised by the Duke’s reaction but he has been ill and chronic illness can affect your thought process.
I get the feeling Severus isn’t what he appears to be. Perhaps like his namesake?
