Bong Gi took a deep breath of the sea breeze. Above him, the sky slowly released its blue hue, and the past year and a half drifted by. It hadn’t been anything special. Ji Ho had taken a break from acting, but that didn’t mean Bong Gi’s own work had suddenly dried up.

Rumors that Ji Ho had no upcoming projects had triggered a deluge of scripts—like a torrential downpour. When Ji Ho, who used to do several films a year, firmly turned down everything for an entire year, the rumors started sounding strange.

People claimed he cared only—truly only—about artistic merit, showing zero interest in box office success. But seriously, who even was an actor like that? His role in “23 Centimeters” lent weight to the gossip.

Eventually, even micro-budget indie films began knocking on his agency’s door.

It was then that he met his current girlfriend. Maybe it was a gift from Ji Ho himself, given upon his marriage. Ji Ho wasn’t the type to enjoy happiness alone—he must have thought to share it, sending her his way.

It was a ridiculous notion, but when you’re in love, the whole world seems like a blooming garden, so he simply chose to believe it. He could clearly picture Ji Ho’s stern expression if he ever found out about this belief.

Behind him, busy sounds of preparation grew louder. Everyone seemed to have noticed the sky’s shifting colors. Bong Gi swallowed the faint sweetness lingering in his throat and opened his mouth.

“Ji Ho, listen… getting married is great, and taking things easy with work is also really great—but there’s just one thing I’d like to ask.”

“Yeah. Go ahead.”

At the word “request,” Ji Ho calmly nodded. A request made while facing this view was worth his full attention.

Without hesitation, Bong Gi spoke.

“Let’s wait a bit before having kids.”

“Oh…”

For a moment, Ji Ho’s vision blurred. He lingered on the word “kids.” It wasn’t just about waiting—he’d never even considered having them at all. In the world he’d created, only Hye Yoon ran freely, bright and pure.

He’d never imagined introducing a new character into this fairy-tale world. Yet his reply caught in his throat. Saying “Okay” or admitting he’d never thought of having children somehow felt wrong, almost guilty.
