Ji Ho was utterly amazed as soon as he stepped into Hye Yoon’s house. His admiration escaped like breath before he could even try to hide it. Hye Yoon, who had been about to take off her shoes, turned toward him.
“Huh? What’s wrong?”
“I feel like I could tell whose house this is even with my eyes closed.”
What stunned Ji Ho was the scent of the place. It wasn’t just that Hye Yoon’s fragrance had seeped into the space—it felt as if the space itself *was* her. It was less like entering a house and more like stepping inside of her.
He’d never felt someone so intensely just by being in a place, especially right at the entrance, through something invisible and intangible.
“Oh, probably because the scented candles I burn at home, my body lotion, and my perfume… they’re all the same scent.”
Hye Yoon, slightly flustered, slipped off her shoes and briefly rolled up her sleeve, waving her wrist playfully right in front of Ji Ho’s nose.
“Smells similar, right? To the house.”
The sight of her slender, pale wrist swaying before him with that dizzying fragrance naturally made his heart race even more intensely. He nodded slowly. She seemed unaware of how much impact such a small gesture could have.
“It’s also a scent that helps you sleep well. And the blankets are so fluffy—you’ll really sleep soundly tonight.”
Hye Yoon’s eyes sparkled with confidence. Watching her, Ji Ho moistened his lips with his tongue.
The house was considerably larger than he’d expected. Although the apartment building looked ordinary from the outside, he’d guessed it would be well-appointed since it was in an affluent neighborhood—and his guess had been spot on.
In the corner of the spacious living room, a Christmas tree already stood, placed there by its diligent owner. He gave it a fond glance, amused by how earnestly it seemed to be awaiting Santa, then widened his view slightly. Just as Hye Yoon had said, the landscaping outside the window looked exactly like a private garden.
“So you’re a rich older sister, huh? Should’ve known.”
