Ji Ho sat down in front of the microphone and looked around the radio booth.

She assured him it was never usually this fast, and that selected messages would be shown separately, so he shouldn’t worry.

At her kind instructions, he smiled and bowed his head—only for her to fumble over the words she always used to say. Placing a hand over her chest, her whispered “Ah, I’m so nervous” sounded utterly genuine.

“Haven’t eaten yet, right? Our broadcast airs right at lunchtime.”

“I had breakfast late, so I’m fine. I’ll count on you for the next hour.”

“Oh, no! I’m the one counting on you! It’s truly an honor for our family today.”

Ji Ho quietly watched the woman’s face flush as she fanned herself. Her hair swayed with every movement, her cheeks flushed with warmth—and for a fleeting moment, he remembered Hye Yoon from that morning, clinging to the excuse of their slight resemblance.

Her cheeks stained crimson, her brown hair rippling like waves across the bed, the soft, breathy sounds she made nestled in his arms. Some memories were stored not in the mind, but in the body. Just thinking about it sent a jolt through his chest.

Merely hours earlier, as the pounding in his chest finally began to calm, they’d resumed the conversation they’d left unfinished. If you tell someone not to do something, they’ll only want to do it more—so he’d changed his approach slightly.

“If you really want to go on a diet, I’ll help you.”

“Are you going to teach me how to exercise?”

“No. I’ll do it with you, just like now. Isn’t this intense exercise too?”
