Jo Min Chan was currently in the middle of wedding preparations.

His future in-laws belonged to Sahwal Foods—a family that had once been quite prosperous but was now clinging desperately to the helping hand he offered.

Though it was a rather insignificant household, Min Chan actually preferred it this way.

His previous wife had come from an overly dominant family, leaving him unable to live freely; this time, he expected to wield control exactly as he pleased.

Yet, a look of disappointment crossed his face.

“Tch. No matter how I think about it, the eldest daughter was really more my type.”

Sa Young Ho had two daughters. The elder was elegant and demure, while the younger—the one he was set to marry—was pretty enough, though her mind was even more innocent than her face.

In other words, she was utterly empty-headed.

Still, he thought that was better than someone who knew a little too much and talked back sassily.

In his mind, the image of the woman who nearly became his sister-in-law kept resurfacing.

Her pale, clear skin. Her haughty yet deeply atmospheric gaze. Her slender frame, yet gracefully defined by elegant bone structure.

She was, quite simply, the perfect embodiment of his ideal woman.

But then Jo Min Chan shook his head.

“No matter what, she’s meant to be the wife of the chairman of Taesan Distribution. An adopted daughter just doesn’t cut it.”

He’d heard she’d already initiated adoption annulment proceedings—if that was true, then she wasn’t even an adopted daughter anymore, just a pitiful orphan.
