The monster’s right leg, which had been swaying in midair, tore free with a wet *squelch*. Its soft body, unable to withstand the force pulling it apart from both sides, split cleanly in two, spilling its innards onto the ground.

The moment the severed halves hit the floor, Laila clamped a hand over her nose, gagging from the revolting stench.

Once the cleanup was complete, the team members who had withdrawn returned and sprinkled enchanted sand—blessed with holy power—over the monster’s remains. This was done to quickly dissolve the corpse, preventing other monsters from being drawn by the horrid smell.
