Unlike ordinary parties, the preparations were unfolding at an absurd scale and speed, drawing in nearby manpower as if sucked into the hall where the Allen Corporation’s party was to be held.

This applied not only to the host himself but also to the staff, all of whom had been here since dawn, busily working away.

“Hey, another cart loaded with flowers just arrived! Move the carts quickly!”

“We’re still unloading! Tell them to wait a moment!”

One of the workers unloading boxes muttered as he watched yet another wave of flowers pour in.

“Whew. To see so many flowers in this winter season… I can’t even imagine how much all this cost.”

This was a party deliberately planned to be extravagant. Decorating a party of this scale with fresh flowers was no easy feat even in spring or summer, and in this season, it was impossible to secure enough from just one or two local florists. Without a doubt, all the flowers in the area would be completely depleted after tonight’s event.

As the flowers arrived, the women on standby sprang into action. Climbing ladders, they hung wisteria blossoms from the ceiling structure and densely arranged white lilies along the entrance below.

Inside, workers were busily bundling early-arrived baby’s breath stems to create table centerpieces, while beside them, under Evelyn Bryce’s direction, others were bustling about arranging plates, glasses, and other tableware.

Having just checked the newly arrived shipment, Louisa hurried off to inspect the food preparations. Catering to the guests’ tastes and constitutions was a hallmark of a well-prepared party—just as important as the hall’s decor.

Then she heard someone calling out to her from behind.

“Madam!”

Louisa turned around to see the staff member in charge of the flowers, glancing cautiously at her.

“We’ve got some lilies you requested that got damaged during transport. What should we do with them?”
