6 a.m. Vancouver time.

Chairman Tae and his spouse, along with their entourage, arrived at Vancouver Airport after flying over ten hours on a chartered jet and immediately headed straight to a seven-star hotel in the city center.

Tae Seok Ho, who had insisted on bringing Cha Yeo Jin to Canada on the urgent pretext of an emergency, finally revealed his true purpose to his wife only after stepping into their luxurious hotel suite.

“Since we need to adjust to the time difference, let’s rest properly for now. In the afternoon, we’re scheduled to visit Professor Eom’s residence—and we’ll be staying there for a few days.”

“So the reason you dragged me all the way here on such short notice was just to visit Professor Eom’s home?”

“Yes.”

“You came all this way, acting like your life depended on it, just for something that trivial?”

Merely from her husband’s serious expression, Yeo Jin knew this wasn’t some pointless trip. She spoke again in a calmer tone.

“Don’t make me anxious for no reason—just tell me straight. There’s something more to this, isn’t there?”

“Since you already suspect something, why not take a guess at what it might be?”

“What’s gotten into you all of a sudden! Are you joking now?”

“No, it’s not that…”

Chairman Tae let out a soft chuckle, his eyes crinkling with a satisfied smile, as he gently took Yeo Jin’s hand in both of his and patted it. His touch was so tender that Yeo Jin’s heart began fluttering as though she were back in her honeymoon days, and she blushed like a shy young girl.

Yet she knew well that when her husband acted this way, there was always a good reason behind it.

“Could it be… a serious issue with your heart? Are you planning to ask Professor Eom for another surgery?”
