Kaius stepped out of the bathroom, answering by simply lifting Ariel into his arms. His wife’s pale body was now flushed red like an autumn forest.

“This, this wasn’t what I intended.”

“I know. Raymond must have done it out of care for me.”

Relieved just by the thought that he hadn’t misunderstood, Ariel suddenly found her own state ridiculous.

What was the point of all this? Either way, she’d end up lying in bed just the same. While counting the patterns on the bedroom ceiling, Ariel shifted her gaze at the soft rustle of fabric.

Kaius, having removed his sweater, let his eyes slowly wander over his wife’s body. Their eyes met just as he was undoing his cufflinks.

His movements, as he began unbuttoning his shirt while staring directly into her eyes, were so languid they seemed almost lazy—like a predator savoring captured prey.

Ariel disliked the feeling of helplessly waiting to be devoured. Just as Kaius’s eyes filled with confusion at his wife suddenly stepping down from the bed, Ariel pulled him and made him sit.

Slipping between his legs, she began unbuttoning his shirt one button at a time.

From her breath came a sweet scent of chocolate and wine.

Kaius, briefly lifting his eyes, gladly surrendered himself to the pleasure his wife offered. Her delicate, fluttering eyelashes—thick enough to cast deep shadows when lowered—looked utterly lovely.

Finding her enchanting, Kaius kissed the corner of her eye, then briefly brushed his lips against her soft, reddened ones beneath.

“Wait.”

Amused by the sweet command bestowed upon him, Kaius let out a low chuckle. Embarrassed even further by that sound until her ears turned crimson, Ariel found him gently biting her ear this time. Instinctively trying to pull away, she was stopped by his large hand pressing firmly against her back.

After glaring at him for a long moment, Ariel suddenly leaned in and bit his ear. At the dizzying sensation, Kaius’s hands tightened instinctively. Swallowing his heated breath with difficulty, he simply watched his wife.
