Leon Kennedy was Soo Yeon’s first love and the only person she had ever loved throughout her life.

Twenty-five years had already passed since she gave birth to his child. Even though she had faked her death because of that incident and had lived all this time as a dead person, Soo Yeon had never once regretted meeting and loving Leon.

She only felt endlessly guilty toward her child, who had grown up without ever knowing his own mother’s face.

“How dare you cry? You, who don’t even deserve to be called a mother.”

Wiping away her falling tears carelessly, Soo Yeon forced herself to mutter.

Soo Yeon had endured tremendous hardships all this time. As a person officially declared dead, she couldn’t secure a proper job, receive legal protection, or even visit a hospital when she fell ill.

The sole reason she had managed to endure such days until now was her hope of someday meeting her son again—and because of Leon.

Even if she had to wait until she was sixty, or even seventy—it would be fine, as long as she could see him just once.

That faint, elusive hope had given her the strength to go on living.

Perhaps that was why, the moment she saw the flowers placed in front of the shop, he naturally came to her mind.

‘What a foolish thought. By now, he must have built his own family and be living happily.’
