Are you kidding me right now?

Yeo Woong angrily brushed away Seol Ji Oh’s hand from her head.

Seol Ji Oh widened his eyes in surprise at her reaction, then burst out laughing as he watched Yeo Woong’s face turn red then pale in rapid succession.

“Hahaha.”

“What are you even doing right now?!”

Yeo Woong stared at Seol Ji Oh with an expression that clearly said, “How can someone like you even exist?” Ever since he started spouting nonsense about making her fall for him or helping her out, something had felt off.

No, seriously—since when did that pure, innocent kid become so corrupted?

Did he always flirt with his co-stars like this? Was this how he used his good looks?

“Oh, sorry. I was just trying to help you, Yeo Woong.”

Seol Ji Oh said this while wiping the amused corner of his mouth with his thumb. Yeo Woong looked at his shameless face and replied,

“I don’t need this kind of help! I’ll manage falling for you just fine on my own, so please stop playing these games!”

“You’ll manage falling for me on your own?”

Yeo Woong’s eyes widened briefly as if realizing she’d misspoken, then glared back at Seol Ji Oh.

“No! Acting! I meant through acting!”

“Haha. Anyway, remember this—Director Byeon Ju Ho isn’t someone you can take lightly.”

The laughter vanished from Seol Ji Oh’s face. His steady gaze locked onto Yeo Woong.

“Every single emotion you feel in front of the camera will be completely exposed. You wouldn’t want to embarrass the person who recommended you, would you?”

Yeo Woong stared quietly at Seol Ji Oh.

What he’d just done was utterly ridiculous—but it was also true that Seol Ji Oh had recommended her for Director Byeon Ju Ho’s film. For someone as close to unknown as Yeo Woong, this was an enormous opportunity.

She suddenly remembered that throughout his long acting career, Seol Ji Oh had never once faced criticism over his acting skills. She didn’t know whether his romantic performances stemmed from real-life love games or not.

As soon as that thought crossed her mind, Yeo Woong grew suddenly uncertain.

Director Byeon seemed to want Cha Yeon Joo to be a woman utterly infatuated with the male lead, completely losing herself—but could she really portray that character while looking at Seol Ji Oh?

Yeo Woong let out an unconscious sigh. Seol Ji Oh glanced at her sighing and said,

“If you need help, just say the word. I’m always ready.”

His eyebrow-raising smirk looked utterly cheeky.

How many women must have fallen for that face?

He’s practically the ultimate playboy.

Yeo Woong muttered this to herself.

Yeo Woong pulled a can of beer from the fridge. Today felt like the kind of day worth celebrating.

She placed her tablet on the dining table and was scrolling through it, looking for something to watch, when Seol Ji Oh from earlier that afternoon suddenly popped into her head.

‘Shall I make you fall for me? That wouldn’t be hard.’

‘You look even prettier up close.’

Ha!

It was shocking even upon second thought. Just remembering Seol Ji Oh’s face right up close made Yeo Woong shiver involuntarily.

Seriously! How on earth had that Seol Ji Oh changed so much?

Sure, with a face like his, women would probably line up for him just by sitting still—but she’d never in her wildest dreams imagined he’d grow into such a shameless flirt.

Shaking her head, Yeo Woong typed Seol Ji Oh’s name into the search bar. As expected of a top star, there was an abundance of information. She scrolled through his filmography.

His debut was a historical drama, playing the young version of the male lead. In the photos, his face looked refreshingly youthful. After that, he’d appeared in several coming-of-age films and even starred in horror and thriller movies.

Seeing the word “lead” stamped on every single one of his projects made Yeo Woong feel inexplicably bitter. Seol Ji Oh had never known what it meant to be unknown.

From the very start, he’d been the protagonist—and the public’s attention had always been on him.

Seol Ji Oh became a global superstar thanks to a drama he’d filmed three years ago. After the drama topped the charts daily on a multinational OTT platform, he instantly became a world-famous actor.

Yeo Woong took a sip of the beer beside her and continued browsing through Seol Ji Oh’s films. After all, since she was now supposed to be Seol Ji Oh’s devoted fan in front of Director Byeon, she couldn’t afford to know too little about him.

She picked the romance film with the highest rating from the list and started watching it. And that marked the beginning—Yeo Woong stayed up all night.

Romance, period dramas, thrillers—Seol Ji Oh’s acting was genuinely captivating, and it was fascinating how perfectly he transformed to fit each role.

The title “God of Acting” wasn’t just for show.

With red, sleep-deprived eyes after watching three films back-to-back, Yeo Woong lay down on her bed and muttered his name.

That guy Seol Ji Oh… He’s seriously good at acting…

How is it even possible for him to look so cool in every single work? Isn’t that just unfair?

Yeo Woong’s eyelids slowly drifted shut, drowsiness overtaking her. After thinking about Seol Ji Oh all day, even with her eyes closed, his image seemed to hover before her.

He’s probably gonna show up in my dreams too…

Chapter 115 Chapter 114

The call from Director Byeon Ju Ho came the next day. Yeo Woong had finished her drama shoot early that morning and was on her way home when she received his call, prompting her to head straight to his office.

The director seated her and personally brewed coffee, handing it over to Yeo Woong.

“Go ahead and drink. And here’s the script—I wanted to give you a printed copy in person, and also chat a bit with you.”

“Yes. Thank you.”

The script bore the large printed title “Arrow,” with “Screenplay by Byeon Ju Ho” written underneath. Yeo Woong flipped through the pages with a fluttering heart.

The first scene was set in Macau. The character Cheon Su Ho, a genius who effortlessly raked in money at Macau’s casinos, appeared first.

“Wow, Director—you’re doing overseas filming too?”

“Yes. Though Cha Yeon Joo’s role doesn’t have any overseas scenes… so I’m afraid you won’t get to go to Macau with us.”

“That’s a shame.”

When Yeo Woong said this with disappointment, the director smiled and replied,

“But since you’re playing the youngest daughter of a wealthy family, you’ll get to wear great clothes and ride in luxury cars plenty. Looking through your past works, I don’t think you’ve had roles like this before, right?”

Yeo Woong nodded with a smile. The truth was, she didn’t have many notable works to speak of. Her only lead roles had been in two films back when she’d had an agency.

Both had flopped at the box office. She’d also played a memorable villain in one drama.

She took a sip of the coffee the director had brewed, her expression tinged with bitterness.

“After reviewing your works, I actually liked you even more.”

Yeo Woong, mid-sip, looked up in surprise at the director.

“It’s not that your past roles gave you much room, but I could tell you’re an actress who knows how to express emotion. Your recent roles have been a bit repetitive, admittedly—but you’ve always stood out in your scenes, which shows you’ve got the kind of charm that grabs attention.”

Yeo Woong felt a little dazed. Receiving praise from Director Byeon Ju Ho—and at the same time, she felt a lump in her throat. For so long, no one had truly recognized her.

“Thank you.”

“You’ll find your own answer, but there’s one thing I want from you.”

Director Byeon met her eyes directly.

“Make the audience understand Cha Yeon Joo. I want them to think, ‘Wow, that girl’s really strange—but kinda pitiful too.’ That’s the reaction I’m after. Read the script carefully, and if you have any questions, contact me. Understood?”

“Yes. I understand, Director.”

“I’m heading out for lunch with Ji Wook now—would you like to join us before you eat?”

After a brief pause, Yeo Woong nodded. She wanted a chance to discuss the project more with the director.

“Is Asian cuisine okay?”

“Yes, absolutely!”

The three of them—Yeo Woong, Director Byeon, and Min Ji Wook, who’d been handling paperwork outside—headed to a nearby restaurant. Since it was just past lunch hour, the place was quiet.

Seated, Yeo Woong looked across at Director Byeon and Min Ji Wook. The director always wore his cap pulled low, with long, tousled hair sticking out messily from beneath it.

Min Ji Wook, by contrast, looked neat—but his expression was so blank that Yeo Woong wondered if he secretly disliked being there.

Yeo Woong ordered pho, the director went for jjajangmyeon and sweet-and-sour pork, and Min Ji Wook chose nasi goreng. While waiting for their food, the director’s phone rang.

“Hey. Ji Oh. We’re just about to eat. Yeo Woong and Ji Wook are here with me.”

At the mention of Seol Ji Oh’s name, Yeo Woong instantly perked up and listened carefully.

“Yeah. Got time? Great. Come on over, then. I’ll send you our location.”

After hanging up, Director Byeon looked at Yeo Woong and asked, “Seol Ji Oh’s coming. Is that okay?”

Yeo Woong gave an awkward smile and nodded.

Isn’t Seol Ji Oh busy? Why’s he suddenly coming here?

Moments later, the food arrived, and Yeo Woong picked up her spoon. After sipping the warm broth, she felt her insides relax. Just as she slurped up a mouthful of noodles, someone sat down beside her.

She turned her head slightly and saw Seol Ji Oh, wearing a cap, sitting next to her and grinning.

“Cough—cough—!”

Yeo Woong, startled, immediately choked. Seol Ji Oh quickly handed her his water glass. After taking a sip, she turned her head away from him.

Across from her, the director watched with a pleased smile.

“Yeo Woong, you really are a true Seol Ji Oh fan—your whole body trembles just from seeing his face?”

Yeo Woong was momentarily speechless at the director’s absurd comment, then quickly recovered and laughed.

“Yes, exactly. His handsome face suddenly popped right in front of me—I just got startled, that’s all. Haha…”

Beside her, Seol Ji Oh raised an eyebrow in surprise, then tugged at the corner of his lips and smiled. Today, his outfit was a little different from usual.

He normally dressed in neat coats or formal suits, but today, wearing a cap and a puffer jacket, he looked like an ordinary college student—though, realistically, no college student looked like that.

“Ji Oh, what’ll you have? Go ahead and order.”

Seol Ji Oh quickly scanned the menu, glanced at Yeo Woong’s dish, and ordered the same pho. Yeo Woong, mid-bite, looked up at him ordering pho. He leaned in slightly and murmured,

“It just looked really good.”

Then he grinned again.

Ugh…

Yeo Woong felt uneasy under Seol Ji Oh’s constant smiling gaze.

Why’s he smiling at me like that all of a sudden today?

“Since when have you been a Seol Ji Oh fan?”

Min Ji Wook, who’d been silently eating, suddenly asked Yeo Woong.

Though Min Ji Wook had shown zero interest in her until now, Yeo Woong felt cold sweat trickle down her back as she glanced at the director beside him, who was watching her with clear curiosity.

Ah—since when *had* she become a Seol Ji Oh fan?

After a brief pause, Yeo Woong opened her mouth.

“I fell for him after watching the movie ‘With You Tomorrow.’ The way he tenderly comforted the female lead’s wounds, and sacrificed himself to protect the woman he loved—even while getting hurt himself—that performance really stayed with me.”

She felt strangely shy and avoided looking toward Seol Ji Oh.

‘With You Tomorrow’ was one of the films she’d stayed up watching until dawn just last night.

She hadn’t exactly fallen for Seol Ji Oh—but seeing him devote everything for his first love, who’d become an unwed mother, had stirred something deep inside her.

The director nodded in recognition and said,

“Oh, that film? It kinda rings a bell. Ji Oh, how old were you back then? You were pretty young, right?”

“Yes. I was around twenty-one, I think? It was my first melodrama. Ha Eun Joo was my co-star—she became the nation’s ‘first love’ thanks to that film.”

“Right, right. Ha Eun Joo was huge back then. Can’t believe that was so long ago—time really flies.”

The director shook his head and picked up a strand of jjajangmyeon with his chopsticks.

Yeo Woong glanced at Min Ji Wook, the one who’d asked the question—but he was eating with absolutely no interest in her answer whatsoever.

She tilted her head, puzzled.

This cinematographer’s kinda odd.

“Are you staying in Korea now, Seol?”

The director asked, his mouth full of food.

“Yes, for the time being. My film promotion period’s over, so I plan to rest a bit in Korea—and prepare for ‘Arrow’ as well.”

“That’s the right attitude. That’s exactly why I like you, Seol.”

After finishing their meal, the four parted ways in front of the building. Seol Ji Oh, who’d apparently just been nearby and had come only for a quick meal, bowed respectfully to the director before leaving.

Yeo Woong returned to her car, carefully cradling the script Director Byeon had given her like a precious treasure, then placed it gently on the passenger seat. Just then, her phone rang.

It was Seol Ji Oh.

Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day

It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.

The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.

Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.

If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.

It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.

The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.

In the end, everything will come together and be explained.

One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!

In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.

Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.

However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.

Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.

Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?

——

Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.

His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.

Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”

——

The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.

Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!

Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!

The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…

——

But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.

The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.

She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…

Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”

Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”

Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

[Small Theater]

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.

Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”

Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.

Zhu Wansheng: ?

Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…

On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.

Warm breath lingers on her neck.

“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
