Ian stubbornly clamped his mouth shut, as if to say that wasn’t even worth calling words, and stared fixedly at Raphelian.

“There aren’t any beastkin like that around me, so I can ask, can’t I? Why are you staring at me like that? It’s embarrassing.”

“Embarrassed? You’re embarrassed? Does that look like the face of someone who’s embarrassed?”

“Can’t you see my eyebrows have lowered just a bit right now?”

“Ha!”

“Anyway, how was it back then?”

Ian hesitated briefly, torn between answering or not.

But he was far too weak against Mosteros.

Though Michaela was still Michaela to him, he also genuinely cared for and liked Raphelian in his own way, so he slowly opened his mouth as if teaching a younger sibling.

A sudden change came over Raphelian’s usually impassive face. His icy eyes, steady until now, trembled faintly.
