Though not particularly loud, her resolute voice resonated deeply through the elegantly adorned drawing room.

“That’s enough.”
A warm presence settled gently onto El’s shoulder.
“Yes?”
El replied, slowly lifting her tightly closed eyelids.

El found the meaning of “That’s enough” ambiguous.
Had she perhaps said something she shouldn’t have? Tension shimmered in her wide eyes.
Raphelian lightly tapped the tip of El’s nose.
