The White Stoat Princess (5 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 12
‘If you stay in warm water for too long, you might get dizzy.’
Hadel, worried about Weasel, carefully examined her and asked.
“Are you dizzy?”
“Kyu Kyu.”
Far from being dizzy, she looked extremely satisfied.
“You like warm things, don’t you.”
“Kyu.”
This time too, Weasel answered diligently. It truly meant she was in a very good mood.
Hadel frowned with one eyebrow. It was something he couldn’t understand, but this weasel definitely liked flames.
‘Is it because Kyu Kyu’s body is cold?’
Whatever the reason, the weasel submerged in water looked like a jellyfish floating gently.
‘No, she really seems to be floating on top of the water.’
Earlier she had panicked and couldn’t swim, but maybe she could do it now?
Thinking that, Hadel slightly lowered the hand that was holding Weasel. The weasel that had seemed to be floating sank into the water by exactly that much.
“Blub blub blub!”
Bubbles rose noisily. Hadel quickly scooped Weasel up. The completely soaked and now skinny-looking weasel angrily smacked Hadel’s hand with her small front paws.
“Kyu Kyu Kyu!”
And before Hadel could even say he was sorry, she startled herself.
“Kyuing?”
As if making eye contact with Hadel had flustered her.
Then, as though looking for a place to escape on her own, she flailed…
Splash!
“Blub blub blub!”
She fell into the water again.
Hadel pulled Weasel out once more. Coughing and spitting out water, Weasel began crying again, sounding aggrieved.
“Kyuu…….”
Normally one should feel pity when someone cries, yet why did the sound of this small creature’s crying make a corner of his heart tremble and fill him with the urge to kiss her?
‘Cute.’
But he couldn’t kiss her. Because the moment their eyes met, Weasel got startled again and closed her eyes.
‘Is she embarrassed?’
Hadel, who had been carefully taking in every detail of Weasel without missing a thing, made an awkward expression by himself.
Kissing, finding something lovely—these were emotions in realms he knew nothing about. Ever since childhood, because of his fire attribute, he had never been close even with his parents.
‘And yet feeling this way toward a mere beast.’
It was ironic that the affection he had never received and thus never known was something he was now realizing while raising this small creature.
“…….”
Feeling a momentary mix of melancholy and strange fulfillment, Hadel slowly stood up while holding Weasel.
“You’ll catch a cold, so let’s get out.”
Weasel, who had kept her eyes tightly shut until he wrapped himself in a robe, suddenly went limp as if exhausted.
He carefully wrapped her in a towel and carried her out, and the butler who had been preparing clothes for him outside the bathroom dropped his jaw at the sight.
“Your Highness? Don’t tell me you bathed together with the weasel?”
Hadel tilted his head slightly. Others might find it strange, but he had a clear reason.
“The moment I put her in the water, she sank.”
“Pardon?”
Weasel had sunk, so he had no choice. The butler, dumbfounded by Hadel’s answer, glanced at Weasel and muttered.
“Weasels are supposed to be good at swimming. Their toes are shaped perfectly for it, you see.”
“Hm?”
Hadel looked down at Weasel as if to confirm. Weasel shook her head frantically as if she too were bewildered, then looked at her own front paws and let out a scream.
“Kyung!”
As the butler said, Weasel’s toes spread wide and were webbed between them, making them look exactly like flippers.
Oh dear. Born to be an excellent swimmer, yet unable to swim.

“……Is she a little slow-witted?”
“Kyu Kyu Kyu!”
At Hadel’s murmur, Weasel snarled furiously. The butler, who had been looking at Weasel with a troubled expression while his master appeared very affectionate, held out a towel.
“For now, please dry her off.”
Focused only on drying Weasel, water was dripping from Hadel’s own hair.
Having changed into comfortable indoor clothes, Hadel sat and gently dried Weasel’s fur until it was fluffy.
It wasn’t difficult at all. Since heat always radiated from his hands, he simply had to hold her carefully.
By thoroughly trapping even the tip of her tail in his palms, he could naturally feel Weasel’s weight. Hadel frowned.
“For some reason, she doesn’t gain much weight.”
“…….”
For some reason, the weasel in his grasp felt extremely tense.
‘Was the raw fish too much of a shock?’
Completely unaware that Weasel feared he might skin her, Hadel tilted his head.
‘Then what should I feed her?’
Hadel gazed quietly down at Weasel. Just then, the butler cautiously asked.
“Your Highness, about dinner…?”
“Does she like cake?”
“Pardon?”
The butler’s face crumpled. Was His Highness really talking to the weasel? But more importantly…
“Weasels are carnivores, though.”
“I see.”
Following the knight, even the butler said the same thing. Hadel put on a serious expression.
‘Everyone says she’s a carnivore, so maybe she’s too young to know what she herself eats.’
Perhaps he should try raw fish again.
As if reading Hadel’s thoughts, Weasel desperately scratched at his palm.
“Kyu, Kyu Kyu!”
Her paw movements clearly conveyed the determination that she would absolutely eat cake. After a brief moment of thought, Hadel immediately ordered the butler.
“Prepare some cake.”
“…Y-yes?”
“And bring it to my room.”
“Yes, Your Highness.”
The butler tilted his head in confusion. He couldn’t tell whether the cake was truly for the weasel or for himself.
‘In the first place, a weasel can’t eat that kind of food.’
Maybe he was just using the weasel as an excuse to order the sweets he wanted?
‘That could very well be it.’
The butler nodded while resting his chin on his hand. Hadel wasn’t particularly fond of sweets. Liking sweets didn’t quite suit someone of his status either.
‘So he’s been holding back, and now he’s gradually indulging using the weasel as an excuse.’
Thinking that way, everything that had puzzled him suddenly made sense. Even the bag of cookies he had suddenly requested in the middle of the night!
‘I should bring an especially large cake.’
With that thought, the butler’s steps toward the kitchen became much lighter.
And thanks to the butler’s misunderstanding, the cake served that evening was enormous and very sweet.
Nibbling on the large chocolate decorations atop the cake, Weasel looked blissful.
“Is it good?”
Hadel, resting his chin on his hand and watching with warm eyes, asked. Weasel abruptly turned her body away again.
‘She must still be very angry.’
He had thought delicious food would cheer her up. The shock from the raw fish must have been significant.
‘It’s all because I’m clumsy.’
He had forgotten that this baby weasel hadn’t properly become independent as a weasel yet. A huge raw fish might have been too much for such a creature.
‘I should have started with small minnows.’
It had been his mistake to assume she would instinctively know how to eat a large fish placed in front of her.

Still, Weasel devoured the entire huge cake. It was astonishing how it all fit into that tiny body. He wanted to press on her belly to check, but he couldn’t because she would hate it.
Weasel’s sulking lasted quite a while. Now it was time to sleep; instead of the bed, Weasel lay down on the floor.
“Are you going to sleep there?”
There were no cushions either, since they had been moved to the study, so it was just the bare floor. Yet Weasel remained resolute.
“Kyu!”
It would be cold. He was worried, but soon Hadel shook his head.
‘She’ll sneak back up here before long anyway.’
“Then sleep well.”
“…….”
Weasel lowered her head deeply and did not respond. Hadel let out a small sigh, then turned off the lamp by his bedside.
‘Somehow it feels empty.’
Lying alone in bed was in no way unfamiliar, yet tonight a corner of his heart felt hollow. He didn’t even need to think about the reason.
‘Who would have thought this small beast would come to occupy such a large place inside me.’
It hadn’t even been that long since he started keeping her by his side. As Hadel made a slightly bitter face at his own unfamiliar feelings, he heard soft pattering footsteps. Then a small creature curled up like a snake beside his pillow. It was the weasel who had insisted on sleeping on the floor.
“Are you cold?”
Even though he asked, no answer came. Hadel sat up and looked at Weasel. Her small eyes were tightly shut, and her body rose and fell slowly with her breathing.
She had come here in her sleep.
‘Do weasels get sleepwalking too?’
Come to think of it, the time she crawled into his shirt had also been while asleep.
Sleepwalking weasel—he frowned momentarily in worry, but the only place this weasel came to in her sleep was Hadel’s arms. Then there was no real problem.
‘……I’m sleepy too.’
Thinking she probably wouldn’t feel warm just lying by the pillow, Hadel carefully lifted Weasel and placed her near his collarbone.
“Sweet dreams.”
After saying that and hesitating for a moment, Hadel gathered his courage and lowered his head toward Weasel.
*Kiss.*
His lips touched and then left her small head. Perhaps because he had washed her with the soap he always used, Weasel smelled like him. For some reason that made him immensely happy.
‘My weasel.’
She was the first living being ever placed by his side. Listening to her heartbeat, far quicker than his own, Hadel closed his eyes. In his dimming vision, he vaguely saw something like fluttering threads.
‘Pink…… hair……?’
Soft pink hair like cotton candy stole his gaze. And under the moonlight, a face as fair and flawless as white jade lay with its eyes closed before him.
‘……Who?’
He thought absentmindedly that she was beautiful, like a dream. And with that final thought, Hadel fell into a deep, faint-like sleep.
Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!

The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.
