The next day, Leah stretched as she woke from sleep. Just last night, her body had felt heavy and she’d had a high fever.

Thanks to the medicine Edward had given her, she felt lighter than ever before.

“The medicine works pretty well, huh?”

Leah assumed the fever was naturally a side effect of the venomous spider’s poison. After all, her own fever-reducing remedies hadn’t easily brought down the fever until now.

“But this medicine made the fever disappear right away.”

Leah muttered, fiddling with the empty medicine bottle. Since even ordinary fever remedies now worked quickly, it clearly wasn’t a side effect.

“Thank goodness.”

How panicked she’d been every time the fever returned after Akia left. But if the real issue was simply that her own remedy hadn’t suited her, the solution was much simpler.

“I should go ask Lord Edward about the medicine’s ingredients.”

He’d invited her for tea before leaving today, after all. Requesting tea so early in the morning shouldn’t be considered impolite.

Realizing Edward’s departure time was drawing near, Leah quickly began getting ready.

She finished preparing faster than ever before and knocked on Edward’s door. Edward, who seemed to have just finished getting ready himself, looked at her with a puzzled expression.

“Lord Edward, would you care for a cup of tea with me?”
