Tae Jo skimmed over the rings laid out on the table. He was about to take Kyu Won down to Jeju Island soon and was in the middle of picking out a gift for his mother-in-law.

“Would you like to see other items as well?”

Seeing that Tae Jo couldn’t decide quickly, Manager Sung asked.

“Hmm, it’s for my mother-in-law to wear. I’d prefer something simple enough to wear daily rather than anything flashy. Since she’s usually at her café, maybe a necklace or earrings would be better than a ring.”

“Then I’ll go get a few simple styles that are easy to wear every day. Please wait just a moment.”

Manager Sung left her seat, saying she’d return shortly with items. Tae Jo sipped his coffee and looked down at the rings in their box.

“Should I buy one of these too?”

Tae Jo picked up a ring. Lately, Se Kyung didn’t wear jewelry except when working. It was because whenever Kyu Won was in her arms and saw anything shiny, he’d grab it and pull with all his strength.

Just the other day, he had even clung tightly to her fourth finger, trying to take their wedding rings. Pulling on necklaces and earrings was nothing unusual either.

In fact, Kyu Won once got scratched by a pendant and ended up with a wound—Tae Jo remembered how upset Se Kyung had been about it.

“I wonder if she’ll really like this one.”

Tae Jo’s lips curled into a smile as he waited for Se Kyung’s gift to arrive. Just then, Manager Sung returned from outside the private room, carrying several items in elegant boxes.

“Sorry to keep you waiting! Take a look at these. Lately, mothers seem to really like this style.”

Manager Sung lined the items neatly on the table.

Tae Jo examined the sets of earrings and necklaces closely, then picked one he thought would suit Jung Ran best.
