Mrs. Hoffman, head of the General Affairs Division at Aine Academy, occupied an official residence that included two reception rooms, one guest bedroom, and a terrace offering a clear view of the lake.

Outwardly, the residence differed little from other luxurious dormitories, except that its first floor was designated for official use, unlike student dormitories.

Neris entered Mrs. Hoffman’s residence—nicknamed “the Hawk’s Nest” by students—without a trace of fear. Her confident expression and calm footsteps remained unchanged even as she stepped into the counseling room, the place most dreaded by senior students within the “Hawk’s Nest.”

The counseling room, adorned with rather expensive furniture, already held two adults and two children seated. Mrs. Hoffman sat facing Baron Nain across the table, accompanied by Alecto, while Angharad sat beside her father.

Mrs. Hoffman, her expression stiffened either by Baron Nain’s visibly angry face or her own sour mood, addressed Neris coldly.

“Come sit here.”

Neris quietly closed the door behind her and took a seat next to Alecto. Baron Nain stared directly at Neris’s face, then asked suspiciously,

“Neris?”

“Yes, Lord Baron Nain.”

“You remember me. It’s been since you were a child—the first time since then.”

In truth, Neris had often seen Baron Nain in society since coming of age, though he had no way of knowing that. Angharad’s face was tear-streaked, yet she failed to hide her defiant air. Her hate-filled gaze briefly turned toward Neris.

“See? You remember me!”

It was the first time Angharad had raised her voice so excitedly at school. Alecto snorted, and Neris raised an eyebrow.

“What are you talking about?”

“Are you going to pretend you don’t know? You just said you didn’t remember me!”

Male lead is a Love-Obsessed Merman

When he discovers she has gone, he risks everything to pursue her on land, enduring agonizing pain to transform his tail into human legs…

One-line summary: Male lead chases female lead. The male lead’s love is a bit sick, an invincible love brain.

Synopsis

During a voyage at sea, Jiang Yang accidentally captures a merman.

Servant: I heard that mermen are fierce and brutal.

Jiang Yang looks at the merman obediently rubbing her palm like a puppy: “You call this fierce and brutal?”

Servant: I heard that mermen have no human nature.

Jiang Yang looks at the merman with wet puppy eyes, obsessively calling her ‘A Yang’ like a childish infant: “You call this having no human nature?”

With great difficulty, she releases the merman back into the sea and returns to shore.

Who would have thought that in less than half a month, the merman, who should have been freely wandering in the South China Sea, would shed his scales, endure the pain of losing his tail, transform into human legs, and come ashore to find her?

He kneels at her feet, rubbing her palm, with merman tears rolling down: “A Yang, don’t abandon me.”

Chapter Comments (6)

  1. Ciel // Chapter 187

The male lead being so proud of his wife is honestly adorable, even when he gets jealous.
And the female lead is so elegant and beautiful—I can’t wait to see this scene illustrated

  2. Ciel // Chapter 189

Haha, did the ML really just say that to the FL? He’s so cute when he gets a little jealous.
    Can’t wait for next chapter

  3. Ciel // Chapter 190

The ML is so considerate of his wife. He treats her with so much care and gentleness, even when she doesn’t say a word—he just understands her. He’s honestly so perfect, I can’t 😭

I really hope the FL can overcome these painful feelings soon. I can’t bear to watch her suffer this much. 💔
