“There’s a maid named Shuna at the Kamun Mansion. Could you look into her background for me?”

“Why that particular maid?”

“To learn what’s going on inside, it’s best to ask someone from within. I’ve heard the servants there are fiercely loyal. Shuna is a girl who joined the mansion around the time I had my accident. If I hire her as my maid and ask about what’s happened since then, I doubt she’d refuse to answer. The background check is just to verify her identity, in case anything unexpected happens.”

“I see. I’ll send someone over.”

“But… would it be alright if I brought in a maid of my own?”

She asked worriedly after making the request. And for good reason—aside from kitchen duties handled by the head chef, all other tasks at the Perose Mansion were divided among the servants. In other words, having a personal attendant just for her was considered quite a luxury here.

But Hazen reassured Ruela as if it were no trouble at all.

“Of course. Kite was actually worrying about who to bring in as your maid. He was even about to ask his younger sister—the Empress of Elab—to find someone suitable. If you’ve already found a good candidate, there’s no need to look elsewhere.”

“Kite wanted to find me a maid…?”

She was a little touched. How fickle people were—she’d only been possessed for two days and already grown so accustomed to being waited on that she desperately needed someone to help her.

Well, to be precise, it was because the clothing of this era was simply too difficult to put on or take off alone.
