When Balder’s swung blade bounced off the transparent barrier protecting Ruela, his eyes widened as far as they possibly could.
Forgetting he was even in the middle of a fight, he swung his sword toward Ruela again with a look of wonder and asked,
“What is this?”
“A barrier. No matter how much you attack, it’s useless—just give up.”
“Is it magic?”
“Yes.”
She answered haughtily with a confident expression, but Ruela’s gaze was fixed on the remaining duration of the barrier.
As if his initial shock had passed, Balder’s expression changed.
Sensing that he was gathering all his strength, Ruela’s face hardened.
Though the barrier lasted for a set time, she grew uneasy knowing that if it took damage exceeding its threshold, it would either break or its duration would shorten.
“Not so fast!”
Before Balder could bring his sword down, Kite launched a full-force charging attack.
This strike sent Balder flying into the air before crashing him hard onto the ground.
