The Maid Hates Childcare (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 2
“Aileen. What’s wrong?”
The budding villain… no, Louis asked with an innocent, puzzled expression.
“Oh, it’s nothing.”
I shook my head quickly.
‘So their names are Louis and Evan, right?’
The little boy who had persistently begged for food was Louis Reihardt.
The wary child was Evan Reihardt.
‘Let me think. They’re seven now, so…’
Twins awakened their magic at the age of eight.
That was a trait unique to the Reihardt imperial bloodline, known as the “Land of Dragons.”
The first emperor of the Reihardt Empire had taken a dragon as his companion.
That bloodline had been passed down to his descendants, granting them extraordinary powers.
‘Each imperial family member possessed different abilities.’
Exceptional physical prowess, or overflowing magical energy.
Sometimes even precognition or an otherworldly aura beyond human limits.
‘And with those powers, they’ll kill Aileen and escape the palace.’
The more I recalled, the paler my face became.
I had only one year left before the twins turned into villains.
‘Good heavens. Am I going to die next year?!’
I clamped my mouth shut, but nothing changed.
The princes were scrawny and didn’t even look their age.
‘It’s all Aileen’s fault.’
She had embezzled the palace budget allocated for their care, neglected the children, and gave them just enough food to barely survive.
She even tossed it on the floor as if feeding dogs or pigs.
‘The floor suits you princes just fine!’
On other days, she’d serve them rotten tarts, calling it a special meal.
“Good heavens.”
Did I really do that?
No, it wasn’t me—but I was their nanny now, wasn’t I?
I looked at the children with trembling eyes.
‘Ah, so that’s why.’
That explained why Evan hadn’t readily accepted the cup ramen.
‘He was just starving.’
After all, they hadn’t even been thrown a single piece of bread today.
“The cup ramen earlier was proper food. It’s instant, yes, but still.”
I murmured as if making excuses.
What I’d given them wasn’t healthy, but it was within its expiration date—truly normal food.
‘What are their parents doing…? Oh, right.’
I thought of the children’s parents, then immediately sighed.
‘Their mother has passed away… and the Emperor abandoned them.’
What value could sons born to a former maid turned royal consort possibly hold?
‘Your sons will become the worst villains imaginable.’
That was the future of these twins, discarded for being deemed useless.
‘Healing genre, my foot. This is a toxic obsession novel.’
It turned out this novel was famously known as a “healing” story in name only.
There was the sub-male lead duke with monstrous charm, the stunningly beautiful seventh prince hero—
And then there was this.
‘Every single male character who isn’t part of the main cast.’
All showed intense obsession and possessiveness toward the female lead, Eltheas.
‘I used to enjoy watching the men.’
Trending
Handsome looks were a given, and the parade of uniquely charismatic men rivaled even a harem.
‘Beautiful men are the best. And 19+ scenes are the best.’
Churp.
Remembering the sweet descriptions from the book, my mouth watered.
“Louis. Come here.”
“…Huh!”
Startled by Evan’s voice, I snapped out of my daydream and wiped away the drool.
While I’d been lost in thought, Evan had taken his younger brother Louis and stepped far away from me.
‘Right now, there are no handsome men before me—just little boys.’
The female lead got to enjoy all those gorgeous men; I was merely a side character.
Worse, at the story’s start, I was destined to be torn apart and killed by these very children.
‘What do I do now?’
Of all the ridiculous fates—possessing this body only to die without even a hint of romance with any handsome man!
And on top of that, I’d inherited all the horrible things Aileen had done.
I gazed dazedly at the two children huddled together.
I’d possessed the body of a nanny doomed to a gruesome death, without even the standard transmigration buff.
So, what should I…?
Whoosh—
Wind blew in through the hole-ridden window.
The sun had already set, and evening had fully arrived.
My stomach growled.
After dinner, it was time for…
“Maybe… should we go to bed?”
“What’s ‘going to bed’?”
Louis asked innocently.
“Oh, it means sleeping. It’s time to wash up and sleep, so come on—let’s go brush our teeth.”
I gently pushed Louis and Evan’s backs.
Only after putting them to sleep could I properly assess the situation.
‘How careless could I have been?’
The moment I entered the children’s room, I regretted my decision.
‘What is this?’
The room was pure ruin.
‘Look at those cobwebs—you could weave fabric with them.’
I glanced cautiously at the kids, but the little masters of this wreck seemed completely unfazed.
‘Aileen’s room must be better than this.’
Not just better—it was practically paradise.
After all, Aileen never spared any expense on herself.
“Would you perhaps like to sleep in my room…?”
“……”
Evan glared at me with fierce eyes.
‘His gaze is intense.’
Well, if someone who disliked you suddenly changed their attitude, I’d be suspicious too.
“Waah! Are we going to Aileen’s room?”
“Hmm, we’ll go there another time. For now, let’s sleep.”
I fetched the cleanest blanket I could find and tidied up the bed.
“Sleepy time, sleepy time.”
“Hey, Aileen.”
Just as I was gently patting him, Louis spoke up.
Unlike me, who was fighting off exhaustion, Louis’s eyes sparkled brightly.
“Yes?”

“Why are you being so nice to us today?”
My hand, which had been rubbing his tummy, froze mid-air before resuming its motion.
‘What kindness?’
I’d merely fed them cup ramen and helped them brush their teeth, yet Louis already showed me affection.
Seeing his pure, guileless expression, my heart ached.
“I’ll keep being nice to you from now on.”
“Really? Then I wish tomorrow would come soon.”
With those words, Louis tightly closed his eyes.
Evan, lying at the edge of the bed, let out a sigh.
Just as I thought he might finally sleep—
“Good night, Aileen.”
Louis quietly opened his eyes, left that gentle remark, then closed them again.
“…Good night, Your Highnesses.”
When I whispered back, Louis quickly drifted off into peaceful slumber.
I’d hoped the child would fall asleep, but instead my emotions grew even more tangled.
‘I should go to Aileen’s room.’
Louis, whom I’d assumed was asleep, suddenly gripped my hand tightly.
‘Not letting go, huh?’
I tried gently pulling away, but it was no use.
“Ah, forget it.”
I ended up lying down beside Louis.
Exhaustion hit me instantly, and sleepiness washed over me.
‘If I fall asleep like this…’
Maybe I could return to how things were before?
A faint glimmer of hope rose within me.
Soon, my consciousness sank into darkness.
But this was no rest—it was another beginning.
“Where is this…?”
I blinked slowly.
‘Am I dreaming?’
Looking down, I saw familiar tiles.
The comfortable familiarity of this often-seen place made me glance around naturally.
Bright lighting and an impossibly vast interior stretched before me.
A meat section and a seafood section stood side by side, and ahead of them was a stall selling organic vegetables.
“It’s a supermarket?”
Could I have been sent back?
Hope welled up, but something still felt off.
“Why is no one here?”
No customers, no vendors—only I existed in this place.
‘What is this now?’
Stopping in front of the clothing section, I looked into the mirror beside the stall.
“Aileen?”
Reflected clearly in the full-length mirror was unmistakably ‘Aileen.’
“W-what is this…?”
“Mew.”
“Mew?”
From where the sound came, a small, white fluffball appeared.
“…Ball?”
“Mew!”
Did it get mad at being called ‘Ball’?

The fluffball puffed itself up indignantly and dashed away.
“Wait a moment!”
I didn’t know why, but I felt I had to catch that fluffball.
But it was far faster than I imagined.
“Huff… huff…!”
How could something so tiny be this quick?!
While chasing it, I somehow ended up at the checkout counter.
“Mew.”
The fluffball squeezed into a stall beside the counter and hid.
“Huff. Just stay there a sec…!”
When I struggled over, surprisingly, the fluffball waited quietly.
I picked up the container where it had hidden.
As I lifted the black container, the fluffball leapt onto my shoulder.
“If you were going to come anyway, why run away?”
“Mew!”
“What’s your name?”
“Mew-mew!”
Of course, it was an unintelligible sound.
As I stroked the fluffball, a soft purring sound—grrr, grrr—came out.
‘Just like a cat.’
While gently petting its white fur, I looked down at the container in my hand.
“It’s chocolate.”
The individually wrapped chocolates looked perfect for popping one after another.
‘The kids would love this.’
Louis and Evan—the twins abandoned in the cold palace.
Their faces as they gratefully ate even a single cup ramen flashed in my mind.
I was still Aileen.
“Ugh…”
Sunlight poured in through the large window—someone must have opened the curtains.
I rolled over to escape into the shade, but the light followed me.
I scrunched my face and sat up.
‘So it was just a dream.’
Opening my eyes, I was still in the princes’ room.
I had to accept that I’d truly transmigrated into the novel.
‘Where did the kids go?’
Looking around, I found they were nowhere to be seen.
They probably went looking for food.
‘You could’ve woken me.’
Well, one day of kindness wouldn’t earn their trust.
‘I should go find them.’
Just as I tried standing up, a dull ache throbbed in my hand.
Clutched tightly in my grip was a black container.
“Cacao 12%?”
On the gold-foil-wrapped black container, the words ‘Cacao 12%’ were clearly printed.
It was the chocolate from my dream.
‘…Why is this here?’
There was no connection whatsoever between this chocolate container and the run-down room.
‘Did I somehow bring supermarket items back?’
Through a dream, no less?
No one would believe such a story.
Trending
I carefully rubbed the Korean characters printed on the chocolate container.
“Is this fake?”
Just in case, I opened the lid—immediately, a sweet aroma rose up.
I took a piece and tasted it.
“It’s real chocolate.”
Exactly the sweet taste I remembered.
‘If I fall asleep now, will I dream that dream again?’
The supermarket, the book transmigration—
Maybe the dream held clues.
Hoping so, I lay back down, but sleep wouldn’t come.
‘Don’t think about it for now.’
Right now, I needed to find the children.
Calmly steadying my racing heart, I stepped out of the room.
‘They must be really hungry.’
Remembering how they’d filled their stomachs with only cup ramen made me anxious.
‘…But the image of my gruesome death keeps flashing in my mind.’
Thinking of those pitiful children also brought back the novel’s horrifying description of Aileen’s fate.
That scene was still terrifying.
But the children were still so young—and contrary to their novel portrayals, they were utterly sweet and innocent.
‘It’ll be okay for now.’
Before I knew it, the kitchen was right in front of me.
Just as I was about to step inside, a giggle made me freeze.
“But I said I’d do it for you, didn’t I?”
I halted, sensing an odd atmosphere.
Around the corner stood Louis, Evan, and two women.

Male lead is reincarnated to save his wife
I’ve also read this one twice already. The female lead is kinda soft and gets embarrassed easily—not really my type, but the plot is definitely worth reading. Hurry up and read it, y’all!

Intro
When Shen Yuan encountered Su Jin again in his previous life, she had already become the Prime Minister of the current dynasty. As for him, the former top young master of the capital, he had long since fallen into the abyss, becoming a singer on a pleasure boat.
After a song ended, he was redeemed and sent to the Su Residence.
Su Jin respected and cherished him, gave him a roof over his head, and bestowed him with warmth. Shen Yuan fell deeper and deeper, but before he could express his feelings, Su Jin passed away.
Shen Yuan died to follow her in death, but instead, he returned to when he was fifteen years old.
At that time, he was not yet engaged, and Su Jin was just a poor scholar.
Shen Yuan gritted his teeth, casting aside all his pride, and thought of ways to coax and entice her every day.
The colder and more indifferent Su Jin was towards him, the more proactive Shen Yuan became.
He was not afraid of being mocked by the world, only wanting to marry his Wife-master early, to hold her hand and never let go for a lifetime.
[Note: This story will not specifically point out the male lead’s reincarnation time point; it’s all in the details. Whenever you feel that the male lead is acting strangely, he has most likely been reincarnated.]

The premise seemed interesting enough but unfortunately the way it’s written is very poor. Idk if it’s the way the writer writes or a translation error but it’s just not smooth. Something about the writing feels disjointed
