The Mad Commander is Obsessive (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 48
The sun’s heat was already scorching, as if summer had truly begun.
Iorenti Royal Palace’s garden was bustling with Imperial Soldiers deep in canal construction.
Like warm sunlight stripping clothes from a weary traveler,
the soldiers, unable to endure the sweltering heat of the worksite, hastily stripped off their shirts.
Their rigorously trained muscles were fully exposed beneath the blazing sun.
As palace maidservants passing by let out tiny screams, the sound of soldiers digging grew even louder.
Colin, staring blankly at the spectacle, grumbled roughly,
“I absolutely cannot live like this anymore.”
“If it’s too hard on you, please go inside and rest. I’ll handle overseeing the canal construction.”
“That’s not it. The canal work is nothing. It’s just another part of training, after all.”

This meant a significant increase in professional soldiers, always ready to fight for the Empire.
Strict military discipline and intense daily drills were routine for these men, whose profession was soldiering.
Compared to their usual training, canal construction was light exercise.

Xin Jiao Zhou: “???”
He fell ill.
She came to see him, bringing breakfast.
As she put down the breakfast and was about to leave, his hand slipped while holding the spoon. “Clank!”
She turned around upon hearing the noise.
He looked up at her, his eyebrows drooping: “My hand… has no strength.”
“Shall I… feed you?” she asked tentatively.
He opened his mouth cheerfully: “Ah—”
Thinking she was drowning, he jumped in without hesitation to save her, but nearly drowned himself. In the end, it was she who swam over to rescue him, giving him air underwater.
After emerging from the water, his ear tips turned red. He lightly brushed his cheek, tucking his sideburns behind his ear, revealing delicate, pink-tinged ear tips. He lowered his gaze, too embarrassed to look at her.
Xin Jiao Zhou: He’s truly beautiful, kind-hearted, and adorable.

Coral is typically prized by island cultures. I was thinking the island countries or the Estrella empire was involved in this to sow discord.

Does the queen really think Delia would be better off in Boswell? She should know better. Whether enemy or ally, Delia would be treated as an object and used for her relation to the throne and ability to bear children. At least this way Delia can not only be happy but retain her dignity. Or is the queen perhaps grieving that her son will be deposed and wants to send Delia away so there is noone to replace the crown prince?
It’s hard to believe the princess has no allies within the palace, among the council or elders or even within the kingdom.
