The maid who had been wrapping her foot with a cloth soaked in cold water stepped aside, revealing a red mark on the top of her foot. Though reddened, it didn’t appear to be a severe burn.
“Your fair skin has turned red. That must have hurt quite a bit. I’ll treat it right away.”
“Oh no, I was almost heartbroken! Do you even realize how much our family has donated to the temple? Honestly, treating me like an afterthought really hurts my feelings.”

Blair finally telling the truth and clearing Esmeralda’s name felt long overdue, and the courtroom tension was intense the whole time. Ivan’s decision was surprising—he chose justice, but it also felt a bit calculated. The ending at the cemetery was emotional and gave a quiet sense of closure.
I expected the trial to last more than a chapter. I feel like something is missing, but it’s nice that the truth finally came out.

Her ending is good 😭😭😭, but it’s so unfair. She died seen as a traitor even though she protected the heroine, and only after her death was her name cleared in a second trial.
Yet for some reason, a vague unease lingered—perhaps due to Ivan's demeanor.
Why is it getting scary?.. It feels like Ivan is about to do something bad to Herdin (and honestly… I support it, do whatever you want 😭).

The contrast is sharp: nobles gossiping carelessly while Blair walks straight into something that could change everything. And Herdin? Still trying to hold on in his own controlling way.
