The state council had ended.
Herdin leisurely rose from his seat and exited the conference room with Ruth. The first thing he saw upon stepping out was the window in the corridor.
The sky was overcast. Judging by the ominous dark clouds, rain would soon fall.
Noticing Herdin’s gaze, Ruth spoke.
“It seemed like the weather was clearing up, but I suppose spring rain is on its way.”
Herdin looked out the window toward the imperial palace grounds. Though hidden behind trees, the Empress’s residence would lie beyond that view—and Blair was likely there right now.
‘Someone from House Lorelain arrived; yesterday, someone from the palace visited the count’s estate. And today, Her Imperial Majesty the Dowager Empress summoned Madam.’
