Blair woke up to the sound of birds.

After curling up under the covers for a while, Blair sat up again at the sound of birdsong returning once more.

Blair stroked her belly and greeted it.
“Hello, little one. Did you sleep well too?”

I love that eliminating the danger and the final battle didn’t suddenly magic everything all right. The problems were still there and they still needed to be addressed. Few novels or manwha take the actual time to explore emotional damage in this way. That’s what makes this story so compelling.
