A carriage came to a halt before a villa nestled in the woods on the outskirts of Nerha.

Black-robed men who had been waiting opened the carriage door. The person who stepped out was Gerard, also clad in a black robe.

Accepting their greetings, Gerard asked,

“Is everything prepared?”

“We have prepared everything as instructed.”

Upon entering a room on the second floor of the villa, a fireplace was visible straight ahead. The man leading the way pulled one of the bricks in the fireplace, and what had appeared to be a fireplace opened like a door, revealing stairs descending underground.

Leaving the men behind, Gerard descended alone into the cellar.

In the center of the vast underground chamber—spacious enough to rival the entire villa—lay an enormous magic circle drawn as if in blood, and at its heart sat the severed head of a black goat.

This was the place where his revenge, meticulously planned over a lifetime, would finally be fulfilled.

“That child… so horrifyingly alike to my brother. Even the way he suffers must surely mirror my brother’s face.”

Gerard—or rather, ‘Logan Delmarque’—recalled Casion, the target of his vengeance, and Herdin, Casion’s son who bore such a striking resemblance to him, and let out a chilling smile.

Truly dreadful and loathsome faces they were.

Faces he had detested with visceral hatred ever since first setting foot in the Delmarque ducal estate forty years ago.

‘What filthy thing is that? I don’t need a brother.’

Logan, who had lived alone with his mother in the slums, lost her when he was five and was brought into the Delmarque ducal household.
