After finishing visits to two orphanages in the morning, the group followed Wendler to their dining destination.

“This way, please. I’ll take you to the place I’ve reserved in advance.”

The location he led them to was a nearby high-end restaurant.

“I chose the closest one from the list of top-tier restaurants, considering our travel route. I also placed the food order in advance at the time of reservation, as we don’t have much time to spare today.”

Wendler explained in a businesslike tone as they entered the restaurant. His words seemed to imply that, given their tight schedule, they shouldn’t fuss over the menu.

Judith’s jaw dropped as she took in the chandelier hanging from the high ceiling and the restaurant’s opulent yet restrained interior decor. Despite being the Section Chief of the Mage Tower Research Institute, she clearly wasn’t accustomed to such an upscale establishment, not being of noble birth.

“Wow, this is my first time in such a fancy restaurant! This is all covered by the travel budget, right?”

“Of course.”

Wendler quickly nodded in response to Judith’s question—she was the type who insisted on clarifying every detail.

A waiter courteously greeted the group and led them to a private room. True to Wendler’s word, the table was already fully set. Visibly appetizing dishes covered every inch of the table.

Judith’s mouth, once agape, refused to close.

“I feel like I’m developing an appetite I never knew I had!”

“Please eat slowly and heartily. Though our schedule is busy, I made this reservation precisely so we could have a proper meal.”

Killion spoke gently toward Veronica and Judith. Judith thought his smooth, resonant baritone voice sounded incredibly charming.

“It’s a day when my eyes, ears, and even my taste buds get pampered!”
