The Beast Swallowed by the Flower (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 32
“Oh, I should introduce my maids. This is Krishina of the Ferni family, and this is Erwell of the Lutec family.”
Lisi pointed to the women standing side by side behind the sofa as she spoke.
Even in my furious, dazed state, I clearly heard the family names Ferni and Lutec.
Both families were renowned and prestigious.
That women from such esteemed houses would serve as Lisi’s maids was astonishing.
Of course, among Britney’s maids—being a noble princess—there were daughters of viscounts or barons. But the Ferni and Lutec families held honors far beyond mere viscounts or barons.
I was beginning to grasp just how influential the Green comital house truly was.
Gloven and Denise grew tense. They had intended to scold Lisi harshly the moment they entered the room, but the presence of maids from such esteemed families made that impossible.
“By the way, I clearly wrote the date on the invitation—what’s the reason for such an early visit? Surely it’s not because you missed me.”
“W-well… it’s just that… we were worried about you…”
At Denise’s words, Lisi gave a faint smile.
“What on earth worried you so much?”
“How could we not worry? Duke Green suddenly showed up and practically kidnapped you, declaring he’d marry you—and we’ve heard nothing about a wedding since!”
“Yes, and besides—didn’t awful rumors circulate about you? Newspapers and magazines were full of them! I was so worried that all your secrets would come out right after your marriage!”
Britney quickly chimed in.
Lisi smiled, clearly amused.
“Why… why are you laughing like that?”
“Because it’s funny. The idea that you were worried about me.”
“Is it funny that a sister worries about her younger sibling?”
“Apparently, yes. You stirred up Viscount Fuchs to send him here, and because of that, I ended up in an awkward situation. You must have known this would happen, didn’t you?”
“What are you talking about? Why would I send Viscount Fuchs here? Are you insane? And besides… why are you speaking so curtly?”
“You started it first.”
“I’m your older sister, Iris.”
“Britney. Do you really think I’m still Iris Wittelo?”
Lisi’s eyes grew cold and sharp.
“I am Countess Iris Green. Show me the proper respect due to the mistress of House Green, and I’ll gladly return the courtesy.”
“Honestly, I can’t stand this anymore, Iris!”
Denise cried out in a shrill, strained voice.
“Just because you’ve left home and become Countess Green, do you think your bloodline as a Wittelo disappears? No matter how hurt you are by this marriage, treating your family this way is hardly ladylike!”
Denise paused briefly, struggling to contain her anger.
Her husband’s child, born from an affair with a maid of unknown origin.
She’d wanted to kill the infant right then and there, but had suppressed that urge and raised her instead. She’d even given her the nickname “the flower of House Wittelo” and nurtured her for twenty years.
And this was the attitude she received in return! If only she’d let her die hours after birth—what a waste of all those years!
“After everything we’ve done for you… we fed you well, raised you properly—you should rightly repay that kindness.”
“Kindness.”
Lisi repeated the word as though hearing it for the first time, her expression one of unfamiliarity.
“Kindness. Yes, Duchess. Aren’t I repaying it? You treat me far more gently and kindly than you ever did before… Is that still not enough? Or do you expect me to treat you exactly as you treated me?”
A smile spread across Lisi’s lips.
Britney felt a chill run down her spine.
“Shall I wash your dishes? Or scrub your windows? Shall I lock you in a windowless storeroom without food, falsely accusing you of theft you never committed? Or perhaps beat you for things you never did—just as you did to me? Is that truly what you desire? Honestly?”
Confronted with Lisi’s calm, unflinching truth, the Wittelo family could scarcely breathe.
They never expected Lisi would openly expose their shameful actions in front of her maids.
“Hell… they were absolute monsters…”
A small voice drifted from behind Lisi.
Lisi glanced back briefly, then turned again to face the Wittelos.
“Why do you all look so shocked? Did you think I wouldn’t speak of these things just because my maids are present?”
Amused, Lisi propped both legs up on the table and crossed her arms. Leaning deeply into the sofa, she continued.
“Why would you think that? Being beaten, abused, falsely accused, starved, locked up, and crying over it—none of that was my fault, nor anything I should be ashamed of.”
“A-Ah, Iris…”
Gloven barely managed to move his lips.
Trending
“Could we… talk privately for a moment?”
“Not a good idea, I think. Three of you, three of us—it’s perfectly fair.”
“W-we just want to talk as family.”
“You’re rather slow-witted.”
Lisi furrowed her brow.
“W-what did you say?!”
“What do you think I’m saying right now? That I’m not part of your family.”
“Iris!”
Unable to contain himself any longer, Gloven shot to his feet, glaring at Lisi as if ready to strike her instantly. His tightly clenched fists trembled violently.
The old Lisi would have lowered her head and shuddered at the slightest raise in Gloven’s voice.
But the Lisi before them now remained arrogantly lounging in the sofa, merely glancing up at Gloven with indifference.
“Sit down, Duke Wittelo. This isn’t Wittelo Mansion, and I’m no longer Iris Wittelo. If you strike me here as you did at Wittelo Mansion, serious consequences will follow.”
“When… when have I ever hit you?!”
“Oh, so that’s your plan—to accuse me of lying.”
Of course, that was exactly what they intended.
Gloven, Denise, and Britney were all scheming to discredit every word Lisi had just spoken as falsehoods.
“Go ahead—I don’t care. But remember this: the moment you start harming me, I’ll run straight to the authorities and formally request to sever all ties with House Wittelo. They’ll ask why, and I’ll honestly confess everything you’ve done to me.”
Denise opened her mouth to speak, but Lisi raised a finger to silence her and continued.
“Of course, you’ll try to brand me a liar even then. But don’t forget—there are many people who know exactly how I was treated at Wittelo Mansion.”
Gloven’s eyes widened as if about to pop out.
“This time, you won’t be able to silence them by killing them off. From now on, I’ll closely monitor all movements of House Wittelo’s employees. If any of them suddenly go missing or turn up dead under mysterious circumstances—as happened before—I’ll report it immediately to the authorities, the imperial court, and the Holy Nation. Iris Wittelo lacked the power to do that.”
Lisi’s eyes curved into crescent moons. Her smile was so sweet that an onlooker might mistake it for one meant for a lover.
Still smiling, Lisi slowly rose and looked down at the Wittelo family.
“But Countess Iris Green has that power.”
Lisi extended her index finger toward the door.
“Leave now. I’m tired.”

Driven out of Lisi’s room as if expelled, the Wittelo family walked back to the guest wing in complete silence.
The moment they entered the guest room, Denise and Britney erupted in fury.
Between the two hysterical women, Gloven sat quietly, lost in thought.
‘Ciel…’
He recalled that name after a very long time.
Long ago, a beautiful, spirited maid he’d forced into submission—his own.
You’d be better off killing me here, Gloven. If you let me live, I’ll surely kill you one day.
Those chilling eyes glaring at him while holding newborn Iris in her arms.
He’d never once thought Iris resembled her mother—but now, as Countess Green, Iris mirrored her mother in both gaze and temperament.
In that moment of realization, Gloven had no choice but to accept the truth.
Iris had escaped the cage crafted by House Wittelo. Nothing they did now would ever lure her back.
At least she hadn’t formally severed ties with House Wittelo yet—that was his only consolation.
It was wiser to appease Iris for now and maintain a connection with House Green; someday, they might need their help.
“Let’s go back.”
Returning now was best. Since Iris clearly didn’t want to see them, lingering at the comital mansion would serve no purpose. They’d only planned to show their faces briefly on the wedding day anyway.
“Go back?! What do you mean? You’re suggesting we just retreat like this? After that girl behaved so outrageously toward us?”
Denise disagreed with Gloven’s plan.
She was determined to somehow knock some sense into Iris.
“She clearly dislikes us. As she said, this is Green comital mansion, and she’s the mistress here. If the mistress doesn’t want us here, staying longer is pointless…”
“Hah! Regardless of what she says, she’s still Iris Wittelo! The Iris Wittelo we’ve fed, sheltered, and raised all these years!”
“You’re right, Father. Leaving like this really isn’t the right move.”
Britney backed Denise up.
“What if she spreads damaging rumors about our family? It’d be better to stay here and show everyone we’re good people.”

“Yes, dear. I’m not saying I’ll torment her here. We need to manage our public image. If we leave now, people will believe every wild claim she makes.”
Gloven doubted whether his wife and daughter staying here would actually improve their image.
But their reasoning did hold some merit.
Gloven let out a low groan and rubbed his temples.
Since it was a Green family wedding, representatives from various imperial and royal courts would surely attend—perhaps not the emperor himself, but likely crown princes, imperial princes, or royal princes.
Gloven had been covertly maneuvering behind the scenes to position himself favorably with Crown Prince Iovert of the Gaviazar Empire as a potential father-in-law.
‘Crown princes usually avoid such events, so his attendance is unlikely…’
But if Iris went on spouting nonsense even at the wedding and those words reached the imperial delegation, it would be disastrous. It might be wiser to stay and appease her.
Thus, the Wittelo family decided to remain at Green comital mansion until the wedding.

“The Wittelo family intends to stay until the wedding.”
Hearing Jamie’s report, Lisi nodded.
As she’d anticipated.
She could already guess how the Wittelo family would behave next.
‘They’ll treat me well. Since the imperial court will send representatives, they’ll want to present a favorable image.’
And she fully intended to graciously accept their insincere kindness.
‘I’ll watch closely to see just how convincingly they play the roles of loving parents and a caring older sister. It’ll take quite an effort on their part.’
My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband
This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.
They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.
In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.
When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.
She makes his life a living hell.
And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.
Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!
Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
