The Bad Husband (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 8
Finally, his flickering reason snapped and acted on its own.
The moment he saw Tae Eun stepping lightly straight inside, or perhaps even earlier—when he faced her, still not fully dry—he felt a flame ignite within his icy rationality.
He hadn’t invited her into his home with *this* intention. Truly, from start to finish, this woman continually shattered every expectation he’d held.
This kiss was no exception. From the outset, Woo Jin never laid a hand on a woman unless he intended to go all the way; he loathed actions that merely inflamed the body without quenching its desperate thirst.
Yet he couldn’t stop.
And once again, without question, she exceeded his expectations.
The instant he claimed the lips of the woman who’d been pouting and irritating his nerves just moments before, his flickering reason vanished abruptly—as if it had been waiting for precisely that moment. In its place remained only raw instinct, intensifying the already searing desire even further.
She was hotter and softer than he’d imagined. Her tender inner flesh felt so delicate and supple that just the sensation of her lower lip being drawn into his mouth sent a rush of heat straight to his core.
Honestly, she shouldn’t have come out here at all.
No—better yet, she shouldn’t have pouted so prettily.
No, no. Better still, she simply shouldn’t have appeared before him at all.
Everything about her constantly defied convention. Then again, ever since that moment he’d chosen her as his blind-date partner based on a single photograph, nothing—absolutely nothing—had been normal.
Have I finally lost my mind?
Damn it. Seems like it.
With that thought, he tilted his head to taste more of her tender flesh, pulling her face even closer.
The moment he deepened the kiss and breathed his heat more intensely into her, he felt a faint sigh escape her lips—though, of course, he instantly swallowed it, refusing to let even that slip away.
Her clumsy, overwhelmed reaction—unable to handle his fervent passion—drove him even madder. A powerful yearning, unlike anything he’d ever felt before, pierced through his entire body. All from just a single kiss.
Even if she suspected he’d deliberately brought her home for *this*, he’d have no defense.
She was that intoxicating. And accordingly, he hungrily drank her in—like a country bumpkin experiencing his very first kiss.
Only when he sensed her breath growing ragged, unable to keep up with his rhythm, did he briefly pull his lips away. But only for a moment; seeing her tear-streaked eyes reignited his thirst anew—and this time, too, he didn’t hold back.
Though normally rational enough never to lose himself, none of those rules applied to her.
He stole another kiss.
An impulse surged—to drag her straight to the bed and experience every part of her. A desire to strip away, thread by thread, everything covering her body, to claim every inch as his own. He nearly did, too—fortunately, the counter between them offered a brief pause in their burning desire.
The heat surging painfully within him collided with the counter, causing a sharp sting.
Damn it.
Just as the curse escaped his lips, he finally broke the kiss, burying his face against her neck and breathing heavily.
Yet once ignited, desire refused to fade—and tightened painfully around his body even more. With her right before his eyes, he had no idea what he might actually do.
So, barely managing to pull away, Woo Jin murmured softly,
“Stop. Go upstairs.”
No sooner had the words left his mouth than she spun around and fled from the counter as if escaping. Watching her retreating back, a hollow smile escaped his lips.
“Ha. Crazy bastard.”

She fled the counter and climbed the stairs in a daze. Once inside her room, Tae Eun locked the door behind her.
Her wildly pounding heartbeat echoed loudly in her head—so loud, in fact, that she couldn’t tell whether her heart resided in her chest or her skull.
Her first kiss with him.
Tae Eun gently touched her still-numb lips. A startling heat still lingered there—the unmistakable trace of the man.
Strangely, though, she felt no aversion whatsoever to his lingering presence. Truth be told, this wasn’t even her first kiss. Her elegant yet eye-catching appearance had captivated many men, leading to several confessions and brief relationships. Yet every relationship ended poorly—because she’d never grown comfortable with physical intimacy.
Aversion always came first. Once, after a kiss, she’d scrubbed her lips raw at home.
That was the limit of her relationships with men. If even a simple kiss felt this uncomfortable, anything further was unimaginable.
Thus, this moment felt utterly foreign to Tae Eun.
Though she easily could have pushed Woo Jin’s chest away, she didn’t. Instead, while fully surrendering herself to the breath-stealing heat surging into her, she hurriedly followed his lead.
She hadn’t disliked it. In fact, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say she’d actually enjoyed the moment. Especially when he tilted his head to press deeper, an electrifying sensation she’d never experienced before shot through her lower abdomen.
She was simply astonished. Was a kiss truly supposed to feel like this?
It felt as if everything about her had been scattered haphazardly because of him—yet, strangely, she didn’t mind the man who’d thrown her into such disarray. Though the sudden kiss should have provoked humiliation, she felt none of it. In fact, her body ached faintly from the lingering heat that still hadn’t faded.
Yet the man ended the kiss with an utterly composed voice, calmly telling her to go upstairs and releasing her—completely unfazed.
Unlike her, who looked thoroughly disheveled, his voice remained so placid—as if such playful indulgence meant nothing to him—that she felt a twinge of resentment.
Tae Eun managed to drag her trembling legs over to the bed and crawled onto it.
Though the coolness of the bed should have made her shiver, her body remained so fiercely warm that she felt no chill at all.
For a trace left by a man in just a moment, it was remarkably potent.
She sensed it would be a long night.

The next day.
Jangwon’s main house, where Chairwoman Jung was staying, grew noisy from morning onward—owing to the gathering of three idle women, thanks to the weekend.
“Unnie, didn’t Woo Jin go on a blind date? With an utterly absurd woman, no less!”
The second sister, Young Hee, spoke first, exasperated—shaking her head as if still unable to believe it upon reflection. In response, the third sister, Young Sook, asked,
“A blind date? Woo Jin? With Go Ji Hye?”
“No—not Go Ji Hye. If it were Go Ji Hye, would I have called her ‘absurd’?”
“Then who?”
“Literally someone utterly unbelievable. Heaven knows where she popped out from to snatch that spot.”
“What’s going on? After passing over Hanseong Group’s Go Ji Hye, was there even anyone decent enough in the remaining profiles to catch Woo Jin’s eye?”
“Well, I heard her father’s a lawyer or something. What was her name again?”
Since all profiles except Go Ji Hye’s were mere fillers, Young Hee hadn’t scrutinized them closely and thus recalled only vaguely.
“Don’t worry too much. It’s just one meeting. Surely he won’t marry her off the bat?”
“I thought the same—until I actually saw the girl’s photo.”
“Photo? What photo?”
Young Hee pulled up the picture on her phone and handed it to Young Sook. Though the photo looked as formal as an ID shot, the woman’s beauty immediately caught the eye.
“Whoa… She’s pretty. Uniquely pretty, actually. A different vibe from Park Seo Woo, too?”
“Right? That’s why I’m worried. What if Woo Jin got completely swept off his feet by her looks?”
As the two fretted over Tae Eun’s appearance in the photo, Young Ja cut in firmly.
“Does one blind date automatically lead to marriage? You keep going on these meetings until you find the right match, that’s how it works.”
“Unnie, I thought so too—until you saw her face. Her features are refined, her aura uniquely captivating. Who knows? Maybe Woo Jin will suddenly announce he’s marrying her!”
Though Young Hee extended her phone, Young Ja didn’t even glance at it. Instead, Young Sook beside her took the phone again, even zooming in to scrutinize the face.
“Unnie, don’t worry too much. Nowadays, young people not only get plastic surgery but heavily Photoshop their photos—making them completely unlike their real selves! This photo is definitely one of those. Just you wait—the real person won’t even reach half of what this photo shows.”
“I hope you’re right. Then our Unnie Young Ja won’t feel cheated—after all, we raised Woo Jin so carefully, not to hand him over to a girl like this.”
Young Hee’s worry remained immense. At that moment, Chairwoman Jung entered the living room and chided them sternly,
“Tsk tsk. What’s there for Young Ja to feel cheated about? There’s a saying: no parent ever outdoes their child. If the child is happy, what choice does a parent have? And why are you already opposing her before even meeting the girl?”
“Mom! It’s obvious even without meeting her! So, if Woo Jin wants her, are you really prepared to accept a daughter-in-law from such a family? Aren’t you at all reluctant about our Woo Jin? Look at her—beauty, wealth, capability. Is there a single thing she lacks?”
“There is one thing she lacks.”
“What’s that?”
“Good judgment in men.”
Though startled by Chairwoman Jung’s blunt remark, none of the three sisters strongly disagreed—having witnessed, knowingly or not, the string of women Woo Jin had cycled through besides Park Seo Woo, they couldn’t help but deeply agree.
Momentarily speechless, Young Hee quietly stared again at the photo on her phone. But the more she looked, the stronger grew her unease at the inexplicably captivating aura emanating from the image. Although everyone assumed it wouldn’t happen, if—by some remote chance—Woo Jin became infatuated with this woman and announced marriage, it would be a serious headache.
Because Woo Jin wouldn’t have chosen such a woman as his first blind-date partner unless she was truly exceptional. He absolutely detested wasting time—even resurrected from the dead—and thus would have selected his first date extremely carefully. Therefore, they couldn’t entirely dismiss her profile, however unimpressive it might superficially appear.
This wouldn’t do. She definitely needed to strike first and firmly warn Woo Jin that this woman was unacceptable.
As Young Hee rose from her seat, Young Sook asked,
“Unnie, you haven’t even finished your tea—where are you going?”
“To Woo Jin.”
“Why Woo Jin?”
“You know how sharp my intuition is. I even nailed my husband’s affairs purely on instinct. I can’t stand this anxiety—I need to go clarify things myself.”
Hearing Chairwoman Jung click her tongue behind her—clearly thinking Young Hee was overreacting—Young Hee ignored it and stepped out of the main building. Though it would take ten minutes on foot to reach the annex where Woo Jin lived, she willingly accepted the walk.
Normally, Young Hee possessed uncannily accurate intuition. Despite her husband’s apparent perfection, she’d caught every one of his affairs with just a single hint—her instincts were so keen that even decent shamans would weep in envy.
And now, that instinct was ringing loudly—so loudly, like an alarm blaring inside her head. As she approached the annex, she sensed a strange, chilling aura so intense it made the back of her neck prickle.
Not a single servant was in sight. Normally, at this hour, they’d be bustling about, cleaning—but truly, not even one person was visible.
“What on earth? Did he get so tired he bit someone?”
The eerie silence, devoid of any human presence, only amplified her anxiety.
After scanning the area and confirming no one was around, Young Hee dialed Woo Jin on her phone while climbing to the second floor—though he was her nephew, she couldn’t barge into the room of a fully grown man without warning, so she intended to wake him up with a call first.
As the ringtone played and she ascended the stairs, movement stirred on the second floor. Just as she looked up, thinking Woo Jin might be awake, Young Hee witnessed an unbelievable scene.
There, at the top of the stairs, stood the girl—moving with the graceful, fluttering elegance of a flower carried on the breeze.
“Who… are you?”
The woman’s bare face flickered with visible surprise. Instinctively, Young Hee realized the girl was just as startled as she was.

Had Woo Jin brought her here? Though he’d never brought a woman home before, she figured it wouldn’t be a big deal for a healthy, vigorous man to spend a night with one.
But soon, Young Hee realized—
That face looked terribly familiar.
Undoubtedly, it was *that* woman from the photo—the very one Young Sook had confidently declared must be heavily Photoshopped and surgically altered, surely unable to match even half the photo’s beauty in real life!
Unfortunately for Young Sook this time, she was completely wrong.
The woman was immeasurably more three-dimensional than in the photograph—so clear-eyed and lovely that it felt miraculous just to watch her move.
And that woman’s beauty signaled, to them, the ominous prelude to misfortune.
“Woo Jiiiiiiiiiiin—!”

Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day
It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.
The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.
Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.
If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.
It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.
The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.
In the end, everything will come together and be explained.
One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!
In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.
Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.
However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.
Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.
Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?
——
Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.
His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.
Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”
——
The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.
Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!
Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!
The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…
——
But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.
The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.
She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…
Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”
Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”
Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?
[Small Theater]
The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.
Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”
Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.
Zhu Wansheng: ?
Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…
On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.
Warm breath lingers on her neck.
“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
