The Bad Husband (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 48
After returning home from the nursing home, Tae Eun took a shower. Then, purely by chance, as she sat at her vanity to do her skincare, she turned her eyes toward a message alert and read Seo Woo’s text.
The message that popped up on Woo Jin’s unguarded phone pierced sharply into her vision.
-“Oppa, are you doing well? I miss you.”
Though Seo Woo’s name and the message briefly flickered before vanishing again into the darkness, Tae Eun found herself frozen in place.
Even though all misunderstandings about Seo Woo had been resolved, Seo Woo was still far from someone Tae Eun welcomed. Especially not when she sent messages to Woo Jin so casually like this.
Did that mean the two of them were still exchanging messages, despite claiming they were nothing to each other? Or perhaps it was precisely because they were nothing that such messages were even possible.
Yet without realizing it, Tae Eun reached out toward Woo Jin’s phone.
Woo Jin had always left his phone unlocked and exposed in front of her. Thus, even if she didn’t want to know, she could easily unlock his phone—and reading their exchanged messages was no difficult task.
The moment she lifted his phone and brought it before her eyes, she flinched in surprise at the reflection staring back from the black screen. Her eyes, usually calm, now blazed with an uncharacteristically fierce sharpness.
Startled, she looked up at her own reflection in the vanity mirror. It felt as though she were facing a stranger. Though she firmly believed she trusted Woo Jin without a doubt, the woman in the mirror radiated suspicion, as if still questioning everything.
Only then, confronted with her true self, did Tae Eun jump in alarm and quickly set Woo Jin’s phone down.
“Why am I…?”
She couldn’t believe it. She’d become the kind of wife who snoops through her husband’s phone.
Shocked by this ugly side of herself, she closed her eyes for a moment, as if dazed.
-“Never again… I’ll never do something like this again.”
