Time really flew by like lightning. Especially the past week had been the busiest period in Tae Eun’s entire life so far.

She met countless experts for the newlywed house and wedding plans, and went shopping from scratch with a personal shopper. Today, too, she was scheduled to finish the remaining shopping with the personal shopper.

After getting ready, she left the room and walked down the hallway toward the living room. She had to pass through the living room to reach the front door. But before she even reached it, Ji Eun’s voice—full of pretentious elegance—rang out.

Tae Eun unconsciously tightened her grip on her handbag. Thinking about everything Ji Eun had put her through in this house made bitter bile rise in her throat, but at the same time, the fact that she wouldn’t have to see this much longer was truly comforting.

“Oh my… exactly! We were worried sick about the wedding gifts, but they told us to just send Tae Eun with nothing—can you imagine how shocked I was? True chaebols really are different. Completely different. Of course! Even if we didn’t prepare anything for her, would a family like that really ignore us? Ohohoho!”

Ji Eun was already excited at the thought of whatever she might receive from the Woo Sung family, even while sending Tae Eun off with absolutely nothing.

It was disgusting. Not satisfied with sucking her dry her whole life, now that endless greed was trying to latch a straw onto Woo Jin too. And Tae Eun felt pathetic that, despite hearing all this loud and clear, she couldn’t say a single word.

But she still couldn’t do anything yet. Until the moment she completely escaped this house, she remained a worthless appendage inside it. Until then, she had no choice but to endure helplessly. Even though her father had been indifferent to her, he was still blood, so she had no choice but to be patient today as well.

“What, still haven’t kicked that eavesdropping habit? Min Tae Eun?”

When she turned around, Ji Hoon was standing there smirking. She didn’t know how long he’d been watching her from behind, but his eyes were extremely unpleasant.

“Going to marry into a family of a different class, so maybe fix that eavesdropping habit? If you get divorced right after marriage, you’ll have nowhere to go, you know?”
