After getting out of Woo Jin’s car and stepping into the elevator, Tae Eun carefully readjusted the envelope he had given her, holding it as though it were the most precious thing in the world. Just the fact that she could finally free Grandmother from Ji Eun’s grasp made her heart swell so much it felt like it might burst.
But the moment she walked through the door and saw Ji Eun waiting for her on the sofa, that swelling heart deflated like a punctured balloon.
“Where have you been? We’re not even married yet and you’re already wandering around like that? What if the Jangwon family ends up hating you? If the wedding falls through, you’ll take responsibility, right?”
“I just met Woo Jin.”
