The 7-Day Contract (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 4
When Da Jung came back from going out, the guy from 206 was sprawled on the living room sofa fiddling with his phone.
He hadn’t gone out or done any sightseeing. He was spending his time so idly that it was strange he was even here.
She had a slight guess why. Seeing how fluently he spoke Spanish, he had probably been here countless times and had no interest left.
The man who had been staring boredly at his phone lifted his gaze. The moment he spotted Da Jung, he immediately checked the time.
Like a puppy that had been waiting all day for its owner, the second he confirmed her presence he shot her a silent, pressurizing look that said “don’t be late for mealtime” and returned to his room.
They say even people who show no interest in anything in the world have at least one obsession.
For this man, that was “meals.”
“Miss 201. Where did you go today?”
The landlady welcomed Da Jung as she came down to the dining room and asked. These little questions and answers were part of the small joys of traveling.
“Today I went to the Gothic Quarter.”
The landlady’s eyes widened.
“No way, you’ve been here over two weeks and you still hadn’t gone there?”
“No, I’ve already been several times, but I suddenly wanted to go again.”
“Everyone else just glances around and leaves, but Miss 201 is really something else.”
“I like observing things carefully. Oh wow, you sell perilla leaves here too?”
The tray she received was piled high with lettuce, perilla leaves, and other wrapping vegetables. Seeing Da Jung’s delight, the landlady smiled proudly.
“I planted them in the little garden and they grew like crazy. Good with rice wraps, right?”
“Of course, I love ssam-bap.”
The seasoned soybean paste, vegetable side dishes, and grilled fish were perfect. For some reason, though, the dining room was packed today.
“There are a lot of people today.”
“Yeah, a few groups came all at once this afternoon. The rooms are completely full.”
Da Jung smiled in relief. She had felt unnecessarily sorry toward the landlady because the rowdy group had checked out after causing a scene.
“You must be making good money.”
“Right? Soon I’ll be able to build a whole building.”
The landlady laughed out loud, unable to hide her good mood.
“Young man from 206 eats a lot too.”
The man who had quietly followed and taken his tray merely nodded briefly and then trailed after Da Jung like a duckling.
There was still no conversation and it was awkward, but eating at the same table had become fairly natural.
Da Jung stuffed a neatly wrapped ssam into her mouth.
As her cheeks puffed out and moved, the slightly bitter taste of the wrapping vegetables and the fragrant perilla leaves blended beautifully in her mouth.
Perilla leaves in Spain. It was as welcome as discovering spicy cup ramen and kimchi in the middle of nowhere in Africa.
Yet while Da Jung busily wrapped and ate her ssam, the man hadn’t touched his at all.
He was eating without complaint, but since he wasn’t wrapping anything, he didn’t seem to have much to eat. Even the untouched grilled fish remained exactly as it was served.
Worried that he was pitifully eating only rice and side dishes, she hesitated for a long time before cautiously asking.
“Do you… not like ssam-bap?”
“No.”
He firmly shook his head while continuing his quiet chewing.
“Then why aren’t you eating it?”
“I’ve never eaten it before.”
Da Jung’s eyes grew round in surprise.
“You’ve never had ssam before?”
“No. I mean, I’ve never wrapped it with my own hands.”
“Not even once?”
“Yeah, I don’t know how.”
“…….”
A man who spoke English and Spanish like a native and graduated from H-Lab didn’t know how to wrap ssam.
It was absurd, yet it made her think there really are hidden fools in this world.
Da Jung unconsciously hid the smile that escaped her and quickly stacked lettuce and perilla leaves.
“It’s not hard. Watch carefully.”
Speaking gently like a kindergarten teacher, she placed rice and seasoned soybean paste on top and deftly wrapped it.

“See? Just like this. Super easy, right?”
He stared at the ssam Da Jung had wrapped with a thoughtful expression.
“What do you think? You can do— ah…….”
A startled gasp got stuck in Da Jung’s throat. He had suddenly leaned forward and swallowed her ssam in one bite.
As she blinked in bewilderment, the man who had thoroughly chewed and swallowed the not-so-big ssam said,
“Debone the fish for me too.”

Da Jung was flipping through the LCD screen of her digital camera when she finally let out a sigh.
She had taken over a hundred photos in the Gothic Quarter, yet hardly any were worth keeping.
The whole area felt like medieval Europe. She had snapped photos indiscriminately because she loved the atmosphere of the streets, so she barely had any proper building shots and only heaps of random street photos.
It looked like tomorrow’s destination would once again be the Gothic Quarter.
Sighing regretfully, she flipped through the screen again to take in the old-fashioned streets one more time.
Then one photo caught her eye. Beneath the wall of a building in the picture was a well-tended flowerbed.
She zoomed in on the flowerbed to look closer. The green leaves of unnamed plants felt refreshingly vibrant.
Looking at those fresh leaves, she had no idea why the lettuce and perilla leaves she saw at dinner kept coming to mind.
Da Jung bit her lip, her fingertips curling slightly. The fingertips that had briefly brushed against the man’s breath felt strangely tingling.
That feeling lasted only a moment before a laugh suddenly burst out of her.
When he was silent he seemed cold and cynical, but once he started talking he had this unexpected clumsy side that made her laugh the more she thought about it.
Checking the time, Da Jung gathered her travel toiletries and other necessities.
The shower room with only two stalls each for men and women was always crowded, but at this hour she should be able to take a leisurely shower.
She left her room and headed to the shower room in the middle of the hallway. As expected, it was quiet in front of the shower room.
The moment she absentmindedly grabbed the doorknob and turned it, everything in Da Jung’s hands clattered to the floor.
A cool breeze rushed out from the opened door. The air was humid, and the clear sound of water droplets falling from the recently turned-off showerhead echoed.
The man occupying most of the not-so-spacious room turned around. The sight of his moist, glistening muscles contracting vividly took her breath away.
Rather than obscene, it felt like a fresh vitality reminiscent of Adam preserving the mystery of ancient times.
Da Jung’s gaze slid down his smooth shoulders and chest and stopped at his curiously sculpted abdomen. Perhaps because of the white towel around his waist, the shaded contours stood out even more.
She remembered the statue of David, famous for its dynamic and detailed depiction, giving a similar impression.
“That look in your eyes.”
At the voice that resonated through the space, Da Jung, who had frozen with a blank expression, suddenly raised her head.
“You’re licking me again.”
“Huh?”
Her reflexive question came out with a completely dazed face. She was once again being treated like a cow’s tongue, but she had no time to register it.
The man placed a hand on his hip as if showing off and gave her a crooked glance. His attitude was extremely confident.
“What are you doing?”
“Huh?”
As he slowly pushed his wet hair back, a face full of dissatisfaction was revealed.
“If you’re going to keep staring, come in and look.”
“Huh? Ah…… yes!”
His blatant remarks no longer surprised her. Only after a delay did Da Jung finally grasp the situation, frantically picked up her scattered belongings, and turned away.
The man who had been staring at the slammed door raised an eyebrow.
She was a woman whose occasional glances strangely bothered him. Not just the glances—her expressions and actions too.
Leaning on his waist, he pondered for a moment. He had just finished showering perfectly, yet he felt oddly unsettled.
Ending his thoughts, he turned the shower faucet again and squeezed a generous amount of body wash onto his palm.
Meanwhile, Da Jung stared at the closed door without blinking and shook her head in disbelief.
No matter how many times she looked, the sign on the door clearly said “Men’s Shower.”
I’m crazy!
Slapping her cheeks, Da Jung ran back to her room in a panic, threw off the blanket she had pulled over her head in embarrassment, then yanked it off again.
“No! Why didn’t he even lock the door……!”
Grumbling that it wasn’t entirely her fault, her face suddenly burned like fire.
He was the one whose naked body had been seen, yet she had no idea why she was the embarrassed one.

Pulling the blanket over her head again, the frantic kicking that followed showed no sign of stopping for a long while.
☆☆☆
Through the window where the bluish dawn settled, refreshing birdsong poured in.
Da Jung threw off the blanket and stared blankly at the ceiling. Her skin was dry, and dark circles spread under her eyes like spilled blue paint.
A perfectly balanced living statue of David had hovered before her eyes all night, leaving her wide awake until morning.
“Ha…….”
Only a deep sigh filled the silent room.
When breakfast time came, Da Jung tiptoed down the stairs and peeked into the dining room, scouting to avoid running into the man she absolutely must not meet.
“What are you doing?”
Suddenly hearing her native language, she jumped and turned around to see the man’s expressionless face.
Once again, the embarrassment was all hers. The moment she quickly averted her eyes, his head tilted.
“Move, you’re blocking the way.”
“……Huh? Yes!”
Even though she had seen him naked last night, he acted as if nothing had happened.
She hurriedly pressed herself against the wall, and 206 brushed past her.
Slowly exhaling the breath she had been holding, Da Jung shook her head. If she sat across from that man to eat, she would definitely get indigestion.
First, retreat.
Just as she was about to sneak away holding her breath, something heavy landed on the top of her head.
The man’s large hand grabbed her head like a basketball and turned her around.
It was a pretty humiliating moment, yet instead of getting angry, Da Jung looked at the man treating her head like a toy with bewildered rabbit eyes.
“Where are you going without eating?”
“Ah, I was thinking…….”
“If you have no thoughts, at least sit down. Unless you want to be sued.”
“…….”
Once again forcibly recruited as his meal companion, the half-souled Da Jung mechanically repeated the motions of serving rice.
Somehow finishing the meal and fleeing up the stairs first, the man’s voice rang out from behind.
“By the way, you didn’t lose anything?”
“Huh?”
Her legs wobbled the moment she reflexively turned. The man who had been staring into her eyes tilted his head slightly.
“Something you lost.”
“……Uh, no.”
“You should have.”
His gaze, which had been fixed on Da Jung’s face, dropped straight down. After persistently staring below her navel, his eyes returned to her face.
“You usually don’t wear any?”
“Huh?”
“I have it. The thing you lost.”
The man who had come up the stairs bent toward Da Jung. As the distance gradually closed, Da Jung became more intimate with the wall like a cornered mouse.
His lips approached her ear and breathed out.
“If you want it back, come to my room.”
After whispering low like the wind, he turned and leisurely climbed the stairs.
Da Jung, frozen like a statue and forgetting to breathe, felt her ears burn hot.
☆☆☆
Unable to even go to the Gothic Quarter or step outside, Da Jung curled up small on her bed.
Travel and Antoni Gaudi no longer dominated her thoughts.
‘Come to my room.’
The man’s voice echoed in her ears like a reverberation.
Indifferent yet strangely seductive.
She didn’t care if it was just her imagination. One thing was certain: Da Jung’s heart was fluttering because of him.
Was it the moment at the dinner table when his sturdy arms and chest wrapped around her shoulders?
Or when he slowed his steps to match hers? Or perhaps when he came close to her ear, whispered seductively, and walked away?

Every moment felt new, so it was hard to pinpoint exactly when.
Tick-tock, tick-tock—the second hand of the clock sounded unusually loud. The more impulsive feelings surged, the more an inexplicable obsession and nervousness pressed down on Da Jung.
As the sun began to set, Da Jung made up her mind, got out of bed, and started rummaging through her suitcase.
All she had were shorts and T-shirts comfortable for traveling. After much thought, she changed into the shortest shorts and the tightest T-shirt.
In her flat pouch, the only makeup she had was a light coral lip balm. After applying it several times, at least her lips gained some life.
Finishing her preparations, she left the room, walked the L-shaped hallway, and stopped in front of 206.
Her tightly clenched fist boldly knocked on the door.
Knock knock.
When the male lead is punished by carrying the female lead’s child and having periods like a woman
“I’ve given birth to two children for you, yet you still think about him.
Was I nothing but his substitute to you from beginning to end?”
