Eustia sat in the banquet hall, staring intently at the closed door. She seemed to be waiting for someone. After nervously biting her fingernails for a long while, she finally snapped and sharply turned toward Terot.

“How long has it been since we received a reply from the young lady?”

“…It’s nearly been two hours.”

“Then why haven’t we heard anything yet!”

“She did say she’d depart right away, but she didn’t specify an exact time…”

Terot offered the best answer she could. Yet, seeing Eustia’s brows furrow mercilessly, she quickly bowed her head—clearly, it wasn’t the answer her mistress had hoped for.

“Hah! Until this morning, she couldn’t even meet my eyes properly…”

Eustia growled as if the other person were standing right before her. According to Terot, she’d already been kept waiting for two full hours—and that was utterly unacceptable.

Eustia had made up her mind to summon Lellia, who had returned to the marquis’s estate, some time after Dwayne had left the reception room.
