Felix had waited for Caliph all day. He had left the Crown Prince’s Palace to see Ibelia and showed no sign of returning even as night deepened.

He had briefly considered going directly to the Crown Princess’s Palace out of sheer frustration, but couldn’t bring himself to disturb the newly confirmed lovers in their private time.

Moreover, if he suddenly appeared and demanded Caliph return immediately, Ibelia would surely find it strange.

Going to the Crown Princess’s Palace didn’t seem wise for many reasons, so he kept holding back—but he could feel his patience wearing dangerously thin.

Stubbornly, he squeezed his eyes shut and crossed his arms. Just then, the bedroom door opened, and Caliph walked in.

Felix stared at him as if he’d been waiting. A gentle smile curling his lips clearly signaled that his mood was exceptionally good.

Caliph rolled up his sleeves as though he hadn’t even noticed Felix sitting at the table, then tilted his neck left and right, seemingly savoring a pleasant sense of fatigue.

At that sight, Felix’s heart twisted strangely—almost unnaturally.

“Were you coming straight here after spending all this time with Ibelia?”

“Yes.”

“You look awfully pleased.”

Hearing the unusual tone, Caliph sharply turned to look at Felix. At the same moment, Felix bit down hard on his lower lip.

He knew it wasn’t right to take out his frustrations on Caliph, yet the anxiety that had built up all day burst out in exactly this way.

“Huh.”

Felix exhaled a deep breath, trying to calm himself. Then he looked at Caliph again.
