SSS-Class Hunter Goes On Vacation (4 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 12
After all, the original reason she’d called her teammates here was to show them the completion of this quest and the reward she’d receive.
Su Ji summoned back the 〈Saber of Onslaught〉 she’d stored in her inventory. Peace and Saint stared at the short sword with eyes that seemed to pity it, clearly wondering if such a magnificent item was really being used just to cut weeds.
Ignoring their gazes entirely, she slashed through the remaining clump of weeds.
Ding!
[Final quest completed.Reward distributed.
Reward: 30G, Νύμφη’s Stone, Νύμφη’s Breath, Νύμφη’s Prismatic Stone] [Νύμφη expresses satisfaction with your actions.]
It was almost funny.
As if cutting a few measly weeds amounted to anything—yet Νύμφη must have grown terribly frustrated watching the quest sit untouched for an entire week.
‘Like a fussy child excited over the smallest things.’
But the next message that popped up confused her.
[νόμος takes interest in your actions.]‘…Looks like I’ve got two troublesome ones now.’
In that brief moment, Su Ji glanced at her status window, then quickly decided to pretend she hadn’t seen it.
Yet she had a strong premonition that mentioning this to her teammates would earn her a lecture. Hurriedly hiding her status window, Su Ji took out the items she’d just received as rewards.
[〈Νύμφη’s Stone〉Appears to be an ordinary stone.
〈Νύμφη’s Breath〉 Accessory for equipment
Durability distortion: Can be attached to weapons or armor; once equipped, the item’s durability will not deplete.
〈Νύμφη’s Prismatic Stone〉
Appears to be a stone shimmering with iridescent hues.]
The system log only listed superficial descriptions of the stones.
Normally, items displayed stat adjustments or detailed properties.
Occasionally, there were items like these—ones that showed no stats at all, listing only vague descriptions. Such items were either junk or high-tier gear requiring appraisal to reveal their true functions.
Su Ji shrugged.
Just because the details weren’t visible didn’t mean she had to be disappointed right away.
Moreover, 〈Νύμφη’s Breath〉 was extraordinary.
Durability that never depleted?
If she understood correctly, it utterly defied common sense.
No matter how high-tier an item was, durability always wore down. True, higher-tier gear had greater total durability—but it also got used more frequently, leaving that lingering sense of dissatisfaction.
It was like comparing it to a battery in an electronic device.
Even if durability dropped after battle, one could repair it using repair kits or a blacksmith—but over time, the maximum durability would gradually decrease until, eventually, the item snapped mid-combat.
While Su Ji carefully examined the item info window again, her three teammates began murmuring among themselves.
“There’s no expiration date listed—could this be a bug?”
“My goodness. Does this really mean that once equipped, durability never depletes?”
“That’s how it seems.”
Su Ji and her teammates exchanged glances.
“Great Beings”—that was the title someone had given them upon meeting. Anyone who encountered such entities would immediately recognize they were clearly not human and understand the vast difference in their caliber.
Now, she felt she understood that reasoning a little better.
“They truly are on another level.”
Su Ji let out a soft, astonished whistle.
Elaine narrowed her eyes slightly, gazing at the palm-sized stones Su Ji had laid side by side in her hand.
“At this point, those stones probably aren’t just ordinary rocks.”
“I’d say the same, wouldn’t you?”
“Wouldn’t it be best to get them appraised?”
Su Ji had already been thinking the same.
But there was something more pressing first.
“Hmm, let’s finish our four-player game session first.”
“…You mean right now, in this situation?”
“If you always worry about the situation while resting, you’ll never truly rest.”
“Well…”
Having spent the past week deeply immersed in Daphne’s passionate brand of “rest,” Elaine seemed to have lost all will to resist. She quietly nodded and stepped back.
The other teammates appeared baffled by how docilely Elaine—usually so composed—was behaving, like a dog tucking its tail.
“What’s gotten into you, Elaine? You always obey the team leader so obediently. Ugh.”
“Seriously, Elaine. When Peace and I invited you to play, you wouldn’t even acknowledge us. Team Leader, you really should see how sly she is.”
But Su Ji brushed off Peace and Saint’s complaints with a dismissive chuckle.
She simply enjoyed the moment. Smiling contentedly as if nothing unusual had happened, she pointed toward the house.
“Shall we all head in?”
Peace and Saint exchanged glances.
Apparently, there was no stopping their team leader once she’d set her mind on resting passionately.
[This is the timeline separator]There had never been a team retreat like this Spartan-style one.
For an entire week, they cleared every four-player game imaginable—likely every cooperative four-player title available on the market.
Saint, the least physically resilient among them, had eventually resorted to drinking stamina potions.
According to Saint, hunters ranked S-class and above were monstrous beings who never seemed to sleep.
“…We’ve finally cleared every four-player title the team leader prepared.”
Elaine set down her controller, rotating her stiff shoulders.
Elaine, who never showed fatigue even in front of monsters, had been acting like this occasionally over the past few days—and each time, Su Ji found his behavior utterly amusing.
She let out a quiet laugh.
“Aren’t you at least a little proud?”
“I’ll… go ahead and consider myself proud.”
Elaine stretched out with a long yawn before collapsing flat onto the mattress.
Though Elaine was tall and slender, Su Ji rarely noticed it—yet seeing him stretched out so fully on the mattress now clearly emphasized just how long-limbed he was.
Watching him fondly, Su Ji was joined by Peace and Saint, who dropped their controllers to the floor and began writhing around like restless children.
“Wow, I never thought I’d be glad the Wave happened and the gaming industry collapsed.”
“For real. If it hadn’t, I—the one with the weakest stamina here—would’ve been left behind for sure.”
Despite their grumbling, Peace and Saint seemed genuinely excited, fiddling with the games they’d played and debating how they should’ve acted differently or how perfect timing on the oars would’ve yielded better records.
Listening to Peace and Saint’s cheerful chatter, Su Ji found herself marveling anew at how wonderful it felt to lie together comfortably on the mattress, simply enjoying each other’s company.
It was good.
Everything right before her eyes.
The light of this moment, the air of this moment, the conversation shared right now.
This nutritionless rest—
It was all good.
After playing games so intensely for five whole days, she was truly exhausted. She wasn’t even sure if she’d slept properly.
Soon, a gentle silence settled over the four of them.
It had been over three years since their team first formed.
Even when sharing the same space, they often spent time in silence—maintaining gear or quietly working out strategies. They were comfortable with silence between them.
After a long while of lying with his eyes closed, Peace suddenly spoke as if remembering something.
“Now that I think about it, Team Leader, you’re of legal age now, right? We never properly celebrated before—how about throwing a drinking party?”
Su Ji blinked in surprise at the unexpected suggestion.
“Alcohol?”
“Isn’t alcohol both the beginning and the end of wild, carefree fun?”
He wasn’t wrong.
But unlike ordinary fun, alcohol clouded one’s judgment. Though they’d set aside all responsibilities for now, a part of her still wanted to stay mentally sharp in case of emergencies—so the idea didn’t quite sit right.
While Su Ji hesitated, slightly surprised at her own reluctance even in this relaxed setting, Saint raised his hand and spoke first.
“Wait—but don’t we all have the Detoxify trait?”
Peace whipped his head toward Saint.
“We can just roll for failure!”
Elaine frowned as if the idea were ridiculous, but Su Ji laughed brightly, clearly amused by Peace’s suggestion.
Saint shook his head after calculating the odds of consecutive Detoxify failures for Peace, Daphne, and Elaine.
“Team Leader Daphne alone has a passive Detoxify chance nearing 20%—and the rest of us each have around 10%, right?”
“Exactly.”
“Then this wouldn’t be drinking—it’d just be a game of rolling for failure! One success and you’re immediately sober.”
“Ugh, you’ve completely killed the mood for drinking!”
“And while alcohol is surprisingly permissive in Korea, it’s quite addictive. I’m against Miss Daphne drinking. Miss Peace, please drink in moderation.”
At Saint’s earnest expression, Peace shook his head.
“Moderation? You’re making me sound like an alcoholic. Alcohol is the spice of life! Ugh. Elaine, you understand what I mean, right?”
Elaine, Peace’s last hope, turned his head away with icy indifference—as if he’d never even heard the word “alcohol” before.
Defeated, Peace grumbled to himself before surrendering.
“Well then, are we doomed to endlessly wholesome entertainment? Fine. My proposal is rejected. What should we play next?”
The way “What should we play next?” slipped out so naturally made both Su Ji and Saint burst into laughter simultaneously.
Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!
The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.
