Secret Baby (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 7
Tae Kyung sat in the passenger seat, watching Seo Ha until she disappeared from view, yet still couldn’t bring himself to say it was time to leave.
Kyu Won, unnerved by Tae Kyung’s intense expression, held his tongue and simply waited.
Tae Kyung’s eyes swirled with complex emotions.
How was he supposed to understand Seo Ha, who shut her mouth tightly without explaining a single thing to him?
What was she so afraid of that she wouldn’t even tell him why she ran away from him?
The more Seo Ha pushed Tae Kyung away and built walls around herself, the more impossible it became for him to let go of his feelings for her.
Gradually, frustration and anger bubbled up inside him at her silence.
After a long while, he finally spoke in a low voice, as if nothing had happened:
“Kyu Won-ah. Let’s go.”
“Uh, yeah. Okay. But are you alright? Your mood swings went beyond hot and cold—they went from Siberian tundra to Sahara Desert and back. Was that woman Kim Seo Ha? The one you dated?”
Kyu Won watched curiously as she vanished from sight, but Tae Kyung leaned back in his seat.
It was too complicated to explain everything to Kyu Won.
And since there were parts even Tae Kyung himself couldn’t explain, he had no intention of trying.
He replied casually, avoiding Kyu Won’s gaze.
“Shut up. I’m going to close my eyes. Wake me when we get to Seoul.”
“Damn it, will it really kill your tongue to explain just a little?”
Ignoring Kyu Won’s grumbling, Tae Kyung closed his eyes, crossed his arms, and turned his body slightly away.
Kyu Won muttered under his breath as he started driving.
Tae Kyung didn’t open his eyes once until they arrived in Seoul. Though supposedly asleep, his posture remained unusually neat and composed.
As soon0 as Tae Kyung parked in the company lot, he opened his eyes and stepped out of the car with an unnervingly calm demeanor.
“Han Tae Kyung! We’re already short on education instructors—what do you think you’re doing suddenly deciding to apply to Onnuri Kindergarten now?”
“I’ll be the instructor myself.”
“What?”
“Well, doesn’t that solve it?”
Kyu Won couldn’t understand Tae Kyung’s unpredictable behavior today.
“Do you really think it makes sense for the CEO of a company to personally teach coding? Do you think running a class is that simple?”
“What’s so unreasonable about it? Even if we have an instructor, I’ll be checking in on the class every week anyway. So it’s fine if I teach it myself.”
“What? No matter how I look at it, this decision is completely selfish.”
“You’re right. It’s a decision full of my own selfishness. So just pretend you didn’t notice.”
At Tae Kyung’s subdued tone, Kyu Won couldn’t press him further and simply sighed in silent agreement.
For the past five years, Tae Kyung had been the most meticulous and cool-headed person when it came to work.
He’d never rushed into anything so impulsively before. No matter how he thought about it, this sudden move clearly had to do with Kim Seo Ha.
He guessed something must have happened between them, but he couldn’t even bring himself to ask for details—Tae Kyung always reacted sharply whenever Seo Ha was mentioned.
As they entered the executive office, Secretary Yoon greeted them with an uneasy expression.
“CEO Han, the chairwoman is waiting for you.”
Tae Kyung’s face twisted into a fierce scowl.
“What’s going on, Director Lee?”
Tae Kyung growled at Kyu Won.
Kyu Won’s hair practically stood on end. He muttered unconsciously,
“That terrifying bastard…”
“Director Lee?”
When Tae Kyung raised an eyebrow and glared at him, Kyu Won forced an awkward smile.
“Well… that’s just how it turned out. Anyway, go ahead and talk. I’ll be going now…”
“See you later.”
Kyu Won sensed the killing intent in Tae Kyung’s words and hurried off to his own office. Secretary Yoon was equally restless.
“Could I have tea, please? I’ll take coffee.”
“Yes!”
Secretary Yoon quickly left the room.
When Tae Kyung opened the office door, there sat Hyun Young—his mother and chairwoman of HY Group, one of Korea’s largest conglomerates—elegantly perched on the sofa.
She wore a neat and graceful navy two-piece suit, and her perfectly styled hair exuded dignity.

Yet her eyes, unlike her seemingly gentle demeanor, gleamed with sharp intensity.
“Why did you come?”
“Aren’t you being harsh toward your own mother, whom you haven’t seen in so long? I kept telling you to drop by home, but since you never came, I had to come myself.”
Hyun Young remained composed despite her son’s prickly reaction—like a seasoned mother handling a moody teenager.
“I have nothing to discuss with you, Chairwoman. I already told you five years ago.”
“You met Seo Ha, didn’t you?”
“What does Seo Ha have to do with you, Chairwoman? Are you really monitoring every little thing your grown son does? That’s hardly like you.”
Hyun Young fell silent for a moment. During the pause, Secretary Yoon entered and quietly placed tea cups before both of them before leaving. Hyun Young took a sip of tea and spoke.
“Why do you insist on stirring up a child who’s finally settled down?”
Tae Kyung’s anger flared at Hyun Young’s words.
So she’d known everything about Seo Ha all along and never told him?
How much exactly did she know?
“How would you even know whether Seo Ha is doing well or not?”
Hyun Young didn’t answer Tae Kyung’s resentful question. Unable to contain his frustration any longer, Tae Kyung finally exploded.
“You knew about Seo Ha this whole time and still didn’t tell me? What were you so afraid of?”
Tae Kyung’s eyes burned fiercely. Hyun Young calmly set down her teacup and gave him quiet advice.
“If you truly care about Seo Ha, just let her go. Both of you will only get hurt if you keep pushing forward.”
“So that means you won’t leave Seo Ha alone if I decide to see her again.”
Tae Kyung ground his teeth. Hyun Young, unmoved until now, spoke with sudden sharpness.
“Do you really think you can sever your ties with your parents? No matter how distant or unlike parents they may seem, the bond between parent and child isn’t something you can break so easily.”
Tae Kyung found Hyun Young’s inexplicable advice repulsive.
Had she threatened and driven Seo Ha away in the same way five years ago?
What humiliating words had she said to her?
Tae Kyung swallowed his mounting resentment. Arguing with Hyun Young wouldn’t change anything.
Now that he’d found Seo Ha again, he had to protect her from her.
“No. I will get Seo Ha back. I’ve already severed ties with you. I will protect her.”
[This is the timeline separator]Thursday arrived—the day of the first coding class.
Tae Kyung appeared as aloof as ever, but in truth, he was somewhat nervous.
Though Tae Kyung had never particularly liked children, he’d visited countless kindergartens for business presentations—but never actually taught a class.
Education had always been Kyu Won’s domain, and Kyu Won had handled it alone.
Perhaps worried about Tae Kyung, Kyu Won even came down to Yangpyeong with him on Thursday.
“You got the lesson plan from Assistant Yoon, right?”
“Yeah.”
Kyu Won seemed even more nervous than Tae Kyung.
He kept glancing at Tae Kyung with anxious eyes.
“You’d make even a rice paddy by the river feel less uneasy than you right now.”
Tae Kyung snorted dismissively and strode confidently toward the kindergarten building. Kyu Won called out after him,
“Hey! You have to carry the teaching aids and materials too!”
Tae Kyung ignored him and walked off, leaving Kyu Won sighing as he began moving the bags with Assistant Yoon.
Tae Kyung entered the creative classroom first and surveyed the room. Soon after, Kyu Won and Assistant Yoon came in and started setting up for class.
Since the lesson was for young children, they began with very simple algorithms. The main activity involved using tablets to control cute animated characters.
Assistant Yoon and Tae Kyung each took charge of one class, while Kyu Won—who clearly didn’t trust Tae Kyung—volunteered as a teaching assistant.
Tae Kyung’s assigned class was Sky Class, co-taught by Chae Eun and Seo Ha.
Seo Ha’s expression stiffened as she led the children into the creative room, but she quickly began tending to them with careful attention.
This was the first time Tae Kyung had watched Seo Ha at work up close.
She was far gentler and more considerate as a teacher than he’d imagined. Seeing how fond the children were of her stirred strange feelings in him.
She didn’t seem like the Seo Ha he knew.
The Seo Ha he remembered was warm, yes—but fragile, someone he felt he had to protect.
Yet the Seo Ha before him now was a strong, capable woman, confidently and firmly caring for the children.

“Ahem. Hello, everyone!”
Remembering his niece Ji An, Tae Kyung spoke in a soft tone he’d never used before in his life. Kyu Won broke out in goosebumps the moment he heard it.
Was this really Han Tae Kyung, speaking so gently and warmly?
Throughout the entire lesson, Seo Ha deliberately avoided Tae Kyung’s gaze, focusing solely on the children. Meanwhile, Tae Kyung couldn’t take his eyes off her, even during class.
Tae Kyung successfully completed his first lesson. When it ended, Kyu Won let out a sigh of relief.
It had been a bit awkward, but overall better than Kyu Won had feared.
The children had responded well, too.
“Teacher! Will we have coding class next week?”
“Please come again next week!”
“Of course. I’ll teach you well again next week.”
As they left after class, several little girls even clung to Tae Kyung.
He indulged their affectionate antics.
Kyu Won stared at him with obvious surprise.
Seo Ha gave a small, curt bow and followed the children out of the classroom.
Tae Kyung watched her retreating figure with an unreadable look in his eyes.
“Han Tae Kyung, you’ve changed a lot.”
“How so?”
“You said you hated kids. I was already suspicious when you said you wanted to start an education business.”
“I don’t hate them.”
Tae Kyung began gathering the teaching materials. Just then, Yoon Hee walked into the creative room.
“Thank you for your hard work. The children really enjoyed it.”
“Principal Yoon, we tried to tailor the program to their level—how did you find it? Any feedback you give us would greatly help our future program development.”
Tae Kyung, who moments ago had been cooing softly at children, had already switched back to his usual executive persona.
“It really lives up to the reputation of being popular in many kindergartens. It was much more fun and engaging than I expected. Would you care for a cup of tea, if you’re not too busy?”
“We actually need to head back to—”
“Why not? Director Lee, Assistant Yoon—once everything’s packed up, let’s go enjoy some tea with the principal.”
Before Kyu Won could finish declining Yoon Hee’s offer, Tae Kyung quickly interjected with a smile and escorted Yoon Hee out. Yoon Hee walked with him toward the principal’s office, wearing a warm, gentle smile.
Assistant Yoon trailed behind them awkwardly, while Kyu Won wore a thoroughly displeased expression.
But soon, as if resigning himself to fate, he relaxed his shoulders and followed them into the principal’s office.
Yoon Hee personally served water and brewed green tea. Her movements were graceful and dignified.
“It’s not a very expensive tea, but I think you’ll find it quite pleasant.”
“Thank you.”
“No, thank you. We’re grateful you’ve given our children this opportunity.”
“I’m in business too, you know—it’s not free. Haha. You’ll need to give me program feedback, though.”
Tae Kyung joked lightly as he took a sip of tea.
Kyu Won and Assistant Yoon silently drank their tea, listening quietly to the conversation.
Worried about an upcoming meeting in Seoul, Kyu Won kept elbowing Tae Kyung—but for some reason, Tae Kyung kept lingering there.
Just then, the principal’s office door burst open.
“Principal Teacher! It’s not fair! Waaah!”
Min Jun rushed in, loudly crying. He froze upon seeing Tae Kyung and the others in the office.
When his eyes landed on Tae Kyung, his expression twisted, and he glared at him bitterly.
Tae Kyung was deeply irritated by Min Jun’s hostile, glowering stare.

Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
